This kid could really be something special. His blocking in the first two games was often dominant, and with Hernandez sitting out he's getting to show what a splendid receiver he can be.

That play where he dragged Laurinaitis into the end zone was as emblematic display of all-round football excellence as one could possibly imagine: speed, hands, strength, agility, and most of all, determination. Extraordinary all in all. What a football athlete.

I really like Hernandez, too, but Gronk has the potential to be the best all-round tight end in Patriots history, better than Russ Francis and at least as good as Ben Coates...

Early returns indicate that this kid is as good as and probably better than expected..

Really enjoyed seeing him drag Lauranitis... and then good body control to hit the End Zone before his knee hit the ground...

Very impressed.

May I just add this:

GRONK!

GRONK!

Kids seems to have all the tools to be a damn good player. Hands, size, speed, instincts....

Ally hyperbole aside, that was the best play I've ever seen.

Ok some hyperbole but still, that was amazing. He's going to be a serious weapon for us inside the 20s. I wouldn't be surprised to see him put up some very pretty TD numbers this year.

GRONK!!!!

This kid is a beast. Loved watching him drag Laurinitis into the end zone. That awful haircut is probably going to start appearing soon in the stands too.

Just watched the video, holy crap! I had heard about the play, and figured that Gronk had dragged some practice fodder scrub into the endzone.

James Laurenitis ain't a practice fodder scrub.

I'm starting to buy into the offensive hype. If Gronk is going to play like this, and Hernandez is going to play like he did last week, and Moss is in a contract year, and Welker is Welker. Wow. This will be a big time offense.

And I'd say his back seems fine.

There is a ton of hype, but even more "Ifs" about this offense. If Hernandez and Edelman are healthy, it gives Bradu two more good weapons. If Tate is more than just a return man, he gives Brady another speed guy besides Moss. If the running game can stay consistent, this offense can be unstoppable. If the line can stay healthy and protect Brady, he will have another monster season.

IF all of that happens, I think the hype about this offense will be warranted. One thing is certain, I have no doubts about Brady, he looks amazing, and looks like a man on a mission.

As far as Gronk, he sure looks like the real deal, what a redone target too !

Gronk!

It was nice seeing Brady throw the ball to Gronk down the seam last night. Shows that he's starting to have some serious trust in Gronk in the passing game, which is a good thing. He and Hernandez should go a long way in improving our red zone offense.

And "drag" isn't even the word...he HOPPED down the field with a linebacker struggling on the other leg like a fish on a line!

Every camp you see guys who look good and guys who struggle, but guys who look truly special are rare. If his health holds, Gronkowski has that potential. Watching him go up for that 2nd td too -- did you know he has the longest arms on the team, even longer than Vollmer's? Just wow.

He's only 20 years old, this may sound crazy but he's looks like he could put on 15 lbs of muscle. That's not a knock, he's obviously strong as hell, he just has a frame (like Volmer) that looks like it can add more size without losing speed.

It looked like a backyard football play where you see one big kid dragging his little brother through the leaves on a score. Good to know there's a little extra heart on the team again. Loved it!

Out of all the TE's BB has drafted. I think Gronk is the one BB has been looking for all arong. He has the size, skill, blocking and catching ability. He has attitude but you can tell he really enjoys football and it contagious.
