He definitely has not impressed, but I highly doubt he'll be cut, especially considering the preseason games are like his training camp since he missed most of training camp.

man...I hope it's because he's rusty.....if we have this guy setting the edge,we're in a whole lotta trouble.

It's sad we even have to rely on this guy.

Burgess hasn't played well. But no one on this defense seems to be playing well either.

Though Brace has a sack. And a forced fumble last week. I don't know if I want to believe in him just yet.

Missing training camp was the worst thing that could happen with Burgess. He joined the team late last year and it took nearly half the season for him to stop looking lost on the field. BB is absolutely in love with him and there's no way he'll get cut, but if he can get enough reps before the season starts you'd like to hope it leads to him being a reliable complete option at OLB.

why do we keep bringing these ex raiders to the team? last year we brought in turdell sands from Oakland as well who did nothing.

Why are you singling out Burgess. Mike Wright, Devin McCourty, Brandon Spikes, Gerrad Warren, and several other starters played just as bad or worse then Burgess has. At least Burgess has the excuse that he is only his second week of practicing.

Beats me. That Randy Moss guy blows.

Right on!!!

We gave up a 3 and 5 to get this?

Just what I was going to say, if you go by tonights game you would have to kick out half the defense. Lets give everyone some time to gel and play together before we start with the drama.

The other players you mentioned showed up to camp, and impressed in the first two preseason games. Whereas Burgess hasnt shown any sign of motivation or execution so far this year. A third and a fifth are a steep price for what we are seeing.

I thought our first string defense looked better the past two weeks Murrell started compared to the Tully/Burgess combo we saw tonight.

Way to many stupid hits on the QB, to many gift first downs. Cant fault Burgess for that, he wasnt really near the QB...

Burgess was a stiff last year, too, though.

i think you know what i mean. i'm not talking about future HOFers. we just keep taking al's leftovers from oakland like warren, sands and burgess. they are not helping at all.

He was good the last month of the season.

No, he wasn't, and I wish the myth that he was would die. He had sacks against Carolina, Buffalo and Houston, and people began acting as if he was playing well. He was still sucking. He'd simply gone from full power suckage to medium suckage.
