Mark Sanchez: "I love the Patriots, I love you Tom."

... and that's about the only way he gets his name mentioned in the same sentence as Tom Brady.

Ack.

Sanchez is a funny guy. I don't think I would want him as my team's QB, but I wouldn't mind having him at my kegger.

Keep throwing those picks Sanchize and Tom will love you too.

Good on him.

Sanchez cracks me up, seems like he's got a fun personality.

Sanchez loves the Patriots!

NY are going to hate him ;) And that's before he loses games :)

Everytime I start to think Sanchez is too full of himself (an impression one can get quite easily from reading the tabloids in NYC), he does or says something funny like this. Good sarcasm and it sounds like just the right tone. I still want at least three picks off of him in Week Two, though.

Really? To me he seems like he has the personality of a not so bright 12 year old boy. But hey, to each his own.

From what I see of Sanchez (and I admit that HBO edits Hard Knocks footage to make things interesting and not neccessarily accurate), he seems like a great guy to hang with, but doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a team leader. He comes off on Hard Knocks as aloof, immature, and not mentally tough. In other words, a frat boy (sorry to all you fraternity guys out there).

He's a 23 year old kid. This is a pretty typical type of response for someone his age. He's just playing it up for the cameras.

Anyone who thinks this guy has a decent personality isn't watching Hard Knocks. He comes off as extremely phony. Such as moping around talking about how much he sucks in front of the coaching staff until they complement him, like some needy 12 year old.

Honestly, the only believable person on that team - in front of the camera - seems to be Rex Ryan. Everyone else is hamming it up. Especially Tannenbaum, that guy is pathetic. Rex really is that friggin crazy, though, and his personality is 100% sincere.

From last episode...

QB Coach: You know what you need to do, right?
Sanchez: Stop sucking? :(
*coach continues to try to motivate as Sanchez ignores*

FWIW, Hard Knocks is TV, they can (and do) cut as much context as they want to put out a product they feel will benefit the company the most. It is not uncommon at all to completely distort context for TV.

Certainly. But as someone who works in the video/production industry, I think I have a pretty good sense of when someone is embellishing/exaggerating/hamming it up for the camera - and, as one would expect, a lot of the Jets players are doing that. As I said, I think Tannenbaum and Sanchez are the two biggest culprits. Rex Ryan, on the other hand, just seems to be himself.

Yup. What's even sadder is that the Jets QB coach bought right into it and one-upped Sanchez's acting-job with a cliched motivational speech.

And if you believe these words from Sanchez, then I've got some land for sale down in......................

He can't stand the Pats just like everyone over there in green. He's just the only one with any brains as he doesn't want to light any more jet fuel under an already pissed off TB. Smart man Marky, say the right thing. I wonder if Rex gave him a tongue-lashing for the FIB.

Mark Sanchez wasn't always a member of the Jets who despise the Patriots. He grew up watching Tom Brady. He must have been 13 or 14 when Tom Brady was throwing in superbowl XXXVI. Then he got drafted by the jets 9 years later and now he's supposed to hate one of the all time great QBs? I don't think he does hate him.

I meant more along the lines of pre-production editting. For example on the Real World they'll show you something that happened 2 days ago while playing voice of someone talking about something completely different or in another context.

(Disclaimer: I have not actually seen an episode of Hard Knocks. I will also defer to your knowledge being in the industry while I am not)
