Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

A "league source" wonders if Myra will get involved:bricks:

From the article:
The concern flows from the fact that, in 1996, the wife of Robert Kraft reacted negatively -- and loudly -- after the Patriots selected Christian Peter in the draft, who had been arrested numerous times while in college, including on at least one occasion for grabbing a woman by the throat in a bar. So the Pats flushed the fifth-round pick, cutting him only days after picking him.

"I wonder if Mrs. Kraft will get involved again," a league source observed regarding the team's decision to trade for Ojinnaka,

Yada yada yada Florio yada yada yo.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

Another riveting piece of "journalism" by Mike Florio.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

They were just keeping the Jests, Raiders, and Chargers from trading for him.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

I cannot believe that the media is still brining up an offhanded remark made about a 5th round draft pick almost 15 years ago.

Things like this are going a long way towards ruining my enjoyment of sports. I mean, really. The media needs to let it go.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

Change the thread title to " PFT: Will Myra nix the deal?" That story's got legs, youbetcha:rocker:

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

Was this by any chance the same source that told him the Pats were going to cut Randy Moss in '07?
If Florio ever revealed who his sources are he'd put Herschel Walker to shame.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

PFT: Growing disconnect between Myra Kraft and the Patriots.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

This guy can't be serious.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

Slow news day for Florio...

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

Does this mean there is a "disconnect" between Myra Kraft and the Patriots?? :D
It's so hilarious how much they worry about the Patriots.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

As much as guys like Florio often make something out of nothing, I think this is a valid question. If this guy really did push his wife down some stairs and threw her out of the house then he is a POS who shouldn't be on the team. The fact that I've heard nothing about any kind of legal case or jail time makes me think this was maybe an unfounded allegation, but I for one want more info.

Minor detail here. Pushed her against some stairs................not down the stairs.

Re: PFT:pats' trade for Ojinnaka raises eyebrows

While I don't agree with what this kid did nor would I do something like that myself I don't think he should be compares to Peters, who was a repeat offender. Everyone makes mistakes, hopefully this was an isolated and the last incident for this guy.

The only problem I have with the trade is that the guy can't play

No kidding. It's about as bad as the Pats being mentioned as a possible destination of almost every free agent with a checkered past the last couple of seasons simply because Moss and Dillon did well here.

I'm still waiting for the media to pick the Pats as the best new landing spot for former BP CEO Tony Hayward. :)
