Cincinnati Bengals backup S Gibril Wilson suffered ACL and MCL tears to his knee during Friday's home game against the Philadelphia Eagles, his agent, Alvin Keels, said via Twitter.

With Wilson likely to miss the entire 2010 season, that leaves the team thin at the free safety position. Second-year S Tom Nelson (knee) remains on the physically unable to perform list, leaving starter Chris Crocker and fourth-stringer Rico Murray as the only healthy free safeties.

Bengals looked good last night, I think they'll give us a stiff test. Their defense overall has gotten better, and they've got weapons on offense.

Their pass rush is very good, and they have a big mobile O-line.

Spread them out and run the ball on them.
Introduce 3 TE set and ask their LB's to cover them.

I think they'll try the same thing with the spread and then run the ball. They did it last night and were quite effective.

Don't be suprised to a Charlie Weiss'type of game-3rd & 2 and they go 5 wide.
On D stopping the run will be crucial , I don't espect an aerial attack neither from Bengals or Jets early in the game.

That's what they say every season. I didn't even watch last night and I know they are far from competitive. Neither were the Iggles. Palmer was abyssmal and Ochostinko is back. With a dash of TO to boot. Their defense stopped the immortal Kevin Kolb and feasted on the immoral Mike Vick. Color me unimpressed. They're headed for a sub .500 season again. The only thing they do consistently is turn in predictably inconsistent seasons.

I think we fell victim to the same thing other teams did this year with Spikes....measurables versus game tape, although Maualuga was identified as having a hard time getting off blocks...if we had Maualuga, we wouldn't have Spikes right now.....I'm pretty happy as it stands.

And we got the one who is not a recovering alcoholic. Supposedly he has turned it around, but he got off lucky not being suspended for that DUI. That's among the reasons why Santonio Holmes and Vincent Jackson are being traded instead of being paid.

Potentially, the Bengals can be a very good team. The key word, again, is "potentially". I respect their ability to turn in some good and even great plays. Whether they can do that consistently remains to be seen. Until they do, then I agree that they are likely a .500 team again.

Palmer doesn't scare me anymore. I think we'll dominate and win by 14 points or more.

hopefully our interior o-line doesn't get trashed the way the Eagles' did. They look like they might have a long season. So long as Brady has the time, we'll do well offensively. Defensively, I just hope we can stop the run effectively enough. I'm not concerned with their passing game. But I don't want our team to depend on the offense to force teams to give up on the run in order to play catch-up.

I think they are headed right back to their 6-10 standard.
I am far from sold on Palmer as a good QB. Cedrick Benson has to prove he can have more than 1 good season. TO cant even remember the front side of the hill any more.
I'm not sold on their defense repeating 2009 either.
I thought they played way, way over their heads last year.

Indeed. Benson will be a tough test.

TO looks good for a nutcase. They drafted TE Jermaine Gresham who was stud at OK.

it's amazing how so much more optimistic the Bengals' boards are. It's like they saw a different game.
