This guy has an undisclosed leg injury from what I remember hearing, but we haven't seen him at all since the preseason games started. Anyone have an idea of what the injury is, and when we can expect him back? To think that we're playing good defense now, I can't wait to get him back in the starting lineup.

Pretty sure I remember him saying it's not a big deal and, if it was the regular season, he'd be playing.

You can never have too much depth, it is good to see the youts get a lot of playing time. Bodden, McCourty, Butler, Wilhite, Wheatley is a pretty good set of CBs.

Leigh either suffered a mild knee strain or is regrowing a leg. Either way BB has him listed as day-to-day. I have read where he responded to someone on one of the many social networking doohickies he interacts with fans on and expressed no great concern about the scope of the injury - for whatever that's worth in a Belichickian world. I do like how the youngsters have looked with the extra reps they are getting.

oh dear lord .. "leg injury" ... next thing you know he's IRed ... We all know what leg injuries mean on this team ..:bricks:

"Day by Day," eh? Crikee..... On this team, that could well mean they've called for a Priest to administer final unction.

First time unction has has been written on this board I bet.

I'd like to go to Hooterville Unction

If he isn't practicing after the next game I might be worried, but if his knee was worse we probably would have known about it by now.

I am hoping the worst it is is just a need to rest the knee and ease him back into full practice after the third game, with limited action in the fourth game but with full contact.

I assume you meant "back to?" FWIW you were my favorite character as a kid.

Don't be surprised if the Pats are not rushing him back to allow a lot of the younger guys more reps. The Pats know what they have in Bodden, Bodden knows the system, and Bodden is a veteran now. He can rest and make sure he gets to 100% before he gets back on the field and not be negatively affected by the lack of practice and preseason time. Meanwhile, both McCourty and Butler are getting valuable experience with the ones which will definitely help them and the team which at least one of them wouldn't get if Bodden was playing.

I'm choosing to believe that they're just being cautious and saving him for late preseason or the start of the regular season. I don't want to believe that he's just more injured than they're letting on. I want him on the field.
