Mike Holley said tonight that he believes Brady's deal is pretty much done and it's just a matter of crossing the T's and dotting the i's and making a formal announcement. Just based on Tom's overall mojo I tend to believe
Holley's take. I also can't help but laugh at guys like Curran and Gresh and Zo who continue to hang onto and analyze every word Tom has to say. It's hilarious, pathetic but hilarious how they read into things. Gresh and Zo actually believe Tom was "negotiating" with some of his comments this morning on D&C. And TC is freaked out by Brady's Joe Montana reference. It's all such nonsense.

I've literally hear the bold from at least 10 reporters, this isnt anything new. Holley doesnt break any interesting news.

Did he say what he was basing that belief on? It's encouraging to hear, but personally I'm not holding my breath or anything. I think an extension will happen, and I'm not really worried about it, but I have a feeling that, however long it takes, we're going to be hearing these reports for as long as that takes.

That picture made me jealous of Brady... some people just have all the luck:p

How's his body language?

Michael didn't say why he has the opinion he does. Just stated that he believes the deal is in place and they're sitting on it for the time being.

Right on, thanks for the heads up. Since the whole Curran thing, I figured clarifying wouldn't be a bad idea. Encouraging news either way, but Holley especially has sources inside the team, I'd assume (given that he wrote Patriot Reign).

Where there is smoke there is fire even if this is the region that loves to expand upon baseless rumors...

That said was there any reason whatsoever for a potential delay in announcing a finalized deal when it is finally reached? Any chance there is delaying because of a focus on the upcoming preseason games and the rest of the team?

Could have something to do with Mankins, maybe? More likely, if that is the case maybe they just want to hold off on announcing it until they get back from Atlanta? I dunno.

I doubt that Mankins has anything to do with it, not with the way Mankins acted and not with the way the team usually operates on contracts.

I'd buy the until after Atlanta trip is over excuse...

How does Holley know this? I do not believe it.

The same people calling these windbags a bunch of windbags also wait for every word, every article ... any bit of info they might have. What they say, how they say it, who they say it with.

Do these airbags help in your enjoyment of the team?

Just asking .. because i don't listen to them or watch them and I think it's better that way. I get what I need from some of our fine members right here ... and it's better even though they don't have a press pass. Some of the fine members here don't need ratings so they get right to the news that's needed without the fluff.

Gresh and Zo ... some people wait to hear news from Gresh and Zo ... that is pitiful.

is mannings deal done? i hadnt heard anything yet it seems the national media does not concider as high a concern as w/ brady...

Who knows? Holley correctly made the call on Mayo two years ago but bombed on this year's first pick. He all but guaranteed we were going to pick Dez Bryant.

Although there is a T in "Tom Brady" to cross, there is no I to dot. That is why I believe this claim is inaccurate.

I thought it was Don Banks who scooped the Mayo pick?

I have tried to listen to them during training camp, the word painful comes to mind.. lots of yak, very little substance.. lots of noise, not much info ... bombasity is another term that comes to mind.

OTOH Holley gets a lot of back channel info, so he might be right... or at least we want him to be right.
