Don't know if they'll set records like the '07 group but this years passing attack looks like the best we've ever seen here in New England.
Put Moss, Welker, Edelman, Hernandez and Gronkowski on the field/in the red zone.
NO ONE is stopping this offense this year. NOBODY!
(Pssst, this defense is also going to be much better with a Spikes/Mayo combo at the heart of it
This is going to be a really fun team to watch and they're going to win a lot of games.

Amazing that we can get this type of persepective after the first preseason game.

Calm down! :D It was only the first preseason game!

Yeah, I applaud the enthusiasm. To me, it's so refreshing that we can get excited about our team. However, the first two who responded are right . . . it was just one preseason game. I'm sure there is plenty BB wasn't happy with and the team has tons more work to do.

Believe me, I'm plenty of excited about the performance last night. But I've told myself to temper my enthusiasm. There's a lot that can change from last night to week one.

Actually Kon I was saying this BEFORE the 1st pre-season game.
Going to be an awesome passing line-up. Brady has never has a Dallas Clark type to throw to. He does now in Hernandez and apparently Tom has been spending a lot of time mentoring this rookie. Tom bonds quickly with those he sees as definite impact players on his offense. Did the same with Deion Branch. In addition when is the last time Brady has a traditional TE to throw to? This kid Gronkowski is big and tough and catches the ball in traffic
We know what Brady, Moss, Welker and Edelman bring. Now add these two kids into the mix.
This is going to be an unstoppable offense.

Kontra, you're preaching to someone in your choir.lol I am all about tempering expectations . . . to the point that I've been criticized by others on here and in person. It's hard NOT to be excited about what we saw last night, but I agree with you 100 percent.

If you are looking at the WHOLE picture then you are correct.....But if you break it down then there is a lot to get excited about.....

I look at the things like Spikes being in the right positions and making plays....This is something that especially in a complicated defensive scheme doesn't happen this quickly for a rookie.....I am not saying 100% of the time he was right but most of the time he was.....
Our defense was more physical and actually collapsed the pocket on brees....This is something that all of us say we need is some pass rush....
Our defense didn't miss tackles.....This isn't something learned over time but more desire and technique to tackle the guy....It shows that our defense is ready to make some plays.....
Our Offense was actually running the ball and our O-line played well.....And Brady well he looks to be brady again.....

I could go on but you probably saw for yourself the things I am mentioning....As a whole 16 game season + playoffs, yes it is good to temper your emotions and projections of this team but it is also something to get excited about that this YOUNG team is grasping some of the little things this early.....We all know how these LITTLE things can win or lose you a game.....It looks right now like BB is getting the team prepared physically and mentally to go out and win......

Forget last night. (I didn't even see the game) You already know what Brady, Moss, Welker and Edelman bring to the table. Now add a legit Dallas Clark type (1st round draft pick who fell to the 2nd round because he had one too many pot brownies in college) in Aaron Hernandez and add a 6' 6" traditional TE red zone nightmare into the mix.
This offense is going to be awesome

AH was a 4th rounder!!

Gronk is the 2nd round TE :)

The Saints seemed like they wanted to go home last night, especially on defense.

I have high expectations for this offense and defense, but only regular season performance really matters. Ive seen plenty of teams tear up the pre season only to struggle when the real bullets begin to fly.

If guys like Tate, Hernandez, Chung, Connolly,Spikes, McCourty ... can play consistently good, then the Pats will have a chance to be playing in Dallas next February.

Funnily enough what excited me the most was the three tight end sets.

Ahlright! Ahlright! Chalm down!! Chalm down!!

I was going to put a picture of The Scousers; but I didn't know how many would get the joke :)

The hype on Hernandez is out of control. The Patriots haven't had a TE have success in quite awhile, and I can't even remember a TE who could run have success with them SINCE RUSS FRANCIS!!! Ben Coates was a big immovable lug.

Even last night, Hernandez was not often lead downfield, but was doing typical TE stuff, fighting for position, running possession routes. Yes, Hoyer hit him on that beauty 20 yards downfield, and that's what the team needs. But until I see the Patriots O better utilize the TE position, the kid's talent will go into an incubator.

Dave Thomas looks better as a Saint than he did as a Patriot.

You gotta be kidding me....

I'm optimistic with what I saw last night, but it's the first preseason game. The Saints D did not scheme, our offense had one good drive and we showed last year that our problems occurred after halftime when defenses had time to make an adjustment.

I'm optimistic about our young talents, but this is over reacting.

By all means though, I hope you are right.
