Everything’s working out for Randy Moss - BostonHerald.com

For anyone who thinks that Moss is a dog-faker, or doesn't work as hard as anyone:

“Yeah, he is very talented, but he outworks 99 percent of the NFL,” said Martin, when reached by phone last week. “I heard Jerry Rice talk about how hard Larry Fitzgerald works. I’ve seen his workout ... if people take a look at what myself and Randy do, you’ll see a lot of things you don’t see other people doing. I’d put our regimen up against anyone else’s.”

Insightful, intelligent phrases like holy shyt come to mind....

There are scenes of Moss jumping -- one-footed -- in and out of a trash barrel on the video. There’s also footage of him pulling a heavy chain, called a snake, as he runs routes. Those certainly helped.

Martin, however, pointed more toward the tennis ball drops they did. And these weren’t your garden variety version of the exercise. Moss had to go after the tennis balls while hooked up to a band and chain, with Martin adding different levels of resistance.

What was the point of this piece? So Dog's trainer could self promote?
Randy Moss can be in the best shape of his life and it won't change a thing. He will dog it during games and he will never out fight a DB for the ball. I and every coach /QB in the NFL would take Larry Fitzgerald over Moss in a second.

Since you speak for all coaches and QBs could you tell me what the consensus is about the Brady and Manning contract situations.

The consensus among coaches and QB's is that Brady and Manning should and will get huge money. Anything else I can help you with GoldenAge?? ;)

And Peyton Manning over Tom Brady, and Rex Ryan over Bill Belichick ... But, hey, life can be tough!

Randy Moss hasn't 'dogged it' since being a Patriot.

Moss will not outfight a DB.
Man will not get to the moon.
Lyle Lovett will not bag Julia Roberts.
A dog owner will not leave doo-doo on my front yard.
The Jets will not win a Super Bowl in the new millenium.

Only one of these statements hasn't already happened, and it's not the first one which happens with regularity.

Given the statistics, I don't follow your logic on why LF is a hands down favorite over RM by any "coach/qb".

This again. Yeah, the guy's going to the HOF because he never outfought a DB. And he didn't have a separated shoulder for 3/4 of the season and still put up fantastic numbers.

After the 2010 season, people are going to look up and notice that Randy Moss is only 33 years old yet #2 on the all time receiving list, with a decent chance to match Jerry Rice in a few categories.

I don't think any top 5 all time receiver ever produces that way without legendary will, work ethic, and effort.

The leaping, one-handed catch across the middle (which left him completely exposed) against the Colts comes to mind.

I think part of it is due to how easy he makes it look. Like taking out the trash. If he grunted, or made some faces I bet people wouldn't care as much.

"oh look - he's trying REALLY hard!"

He's just that talented folks!
Does he takes plays off? Sure - who doesn't. 99% of athletes do.
The 1% ers dont and they are not the norm.
Is he lazy? hell no

Started tailgating early this morning, eh?

That was a great, great play at a crucial time in a crucial game.

I will also never forget how he pretty much put the team on his back against Atlanta last season. 10 catches for 116 yards, with Edelman and Galloway as the other WRs and a less-than-100%-accurate Brady. He was the go-to guy on 3rd down and took a ton of hits that day.

You couldn't watch that game as a Patriots fan and not respect Moss's commitment to the cause.

Leaving aside the tired "dogs it" bit -- I'm of two minds on this article. Yes, it's interesting to get insight on a top athlete's regimen. Yes, the work Moss puts in to keep his 30-something body in top shape has generally been underappreciated, compared to the way Jerry Rice was lionized for the same thing. But...

"Documentary"? If you watch the video that Guregian is reporting on, you'll see that "documentary" is a major stretch. "Infomercial" is more like it. I'd hazard a guess that Randy agreed to do a promotional video as a thank-you to his longtime personal trainer. (Or just possibly to advertise his conditioning in advance of the free agent market.) And to top it off, the video clip was actually released and discussed two months ago. So, eh.

FYI Rhody Patriots does not speak for all RI fans..

This regimen is brutal, and defies the mediots comments that he is lazy...

The point of the piece is that people like you need to get a clue. Your lame biases don't in any way reflect reality.

Thanks for the link. I love me some Randy.
