Kraft on Brady talks: 'We're cookin'

Kraft continues to hold Brady to the coals in contract talks.

No Gravy: Brady/Kraft steamed over contract talks.

Kraft: "I hate Tom Brady"

oh..did I do it wrong?:)

So now Breer is saying "never mind, Kraft didn't hear the question right," which I said a few pages ago (page 2 of this thread) might be the case.

It was clear pretty early on that Kraft didn't hear the actual question in the first place. Breer's earlier post said the question was phrased as "anything shaking on the front with No. 12?" Not exactly crisp. Then Breer wrote, "(Kraft) responded, rushing off from the noisy area, 'We're cooking.' "

Problem is Breer tweeted the "we're cooking" line and everyone else jumped on it. Kind of ironic since yesterday Breer on Twitter was railing against the no tweets during practice policy, and mentioned how if a fan tweeted incorrect info, the real media would have to clean it up.

So when Kraft gives an answer that would drive a spike through this media driven story and essentially make it a non story, the media (Breer in this case) return with "apparently he didn't understand the question, but replied anyway."

...and the newspaper industry blames the internet for all of its problems.

but but but they are only there to tell the truth right.

oh wait sorry i got sucked back to the 60's for a bit there

Kraft said. "He’s a great cook so he has something very special planned and we look forward to spending many more birthdays with him right here in Foxborough."

Criminy. The headline on Curran's "follow up" is "Kraft says talks with Brady 'cooking,' then backs off."

I'm not going to give a link (unless a mod tells me I have to), but he ends the column with "we'll keep trying to ferret out the closely guarded info while trying not to piss off the owner too egregiously."

Some of these guys need to grow up. As stated earlier in this thread, it's pretty clear there was a group of reporters around Kraft, a vague question was asked in an noisy environment where it could easily not be heard, and a pat (no pun intended) "answer" was given. So it's Kraft's fault that neither Breer nor Curran could grasp the situation before running with "we're cooking."

I'm not a fan of shoot-from-the-hip criticism of the media, but this is so ridiculous. Remember, it was Curran who at the opening of camp misquoted Belichick (turning "all the players who are here are under contract" into "all the players who are under contract are here," to make it look like BB was lying about Burgess); now he wants to go after Kraft for his so-implausible "what are you talking about?" defense. Ridiculous.

This isn't a surprise...remember his role in the Hernandez story. It's right in the same vein of backtracking and reworking what he said to try to save face and hold his position

Funny how it is Kraft that backs off when it was the reporters who were the ones putting words and meaning into his mouth the whole time

Ron Borges: "Kraft & Brady cooking up a new contract. Reports from insiders say it's more like a soup sandwich. This is typical for a team on the decline". /sarc

Gotta admit that hundreds of years ago The Bard nailed it, "Much Ado About Nothing"

He also was big on football: "A hit! A palpable hit!

"So may a thousand actions, once afoot.
End in one purpose, and be all well borne
Without defeat. "
