all i can say is get used to it. as the season goes on it will only get worse. this board has had many ungrades over the years but nothing seems to help.

It could be dns. Try plugging in opendns servers IP numbers in to your network configuration control panel. You would allow your computer to use DHCP, but change your DNS to use manual. Then enter these servers.

208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220

Save and try the website again after closing your browser.

If that does not work, you might have "warn when visiting a fraudulent website"
checked in your Security browser settings. Uncheck it and retry.

hope that helps

remember to change your DNS setting back if it doesn't work.

That seems like a fitting freudian slip. The Patriots' website sucks so bad it should be the Jets' website.

The OP is writing about Patriots.com, not Patsfans.com, Captain.

I was so blinded by my hatred of patriots.com I didn't even notice that.

I had us switched over to two machines last year - and we haven't had any issues since, even with 5,000+ on here. So no - there hasn't been any problems with the forum since the beginning of last year, and there won't be any problems this season.

As for Patriots.com my complaint is the Bob's Furniture guy coming and blasting out through my speakers every single time I go onto it. Very annoying

It is the worst website in the world.

What I do, is use google advanced search, limit domain name patriots.com and just search for terms from there.

I can't go there any more. If I have to look up a player on the roster, I force myself, but it's so slow and so busy with so much junk, it's an effort.

Someone got enamored with the technology and didn't test the site over a slow link (or with an adult mind).

Over there, I watch Patriots Today, the Press Conferences, All Access (the weekly hour long Pats show, Patriots Football Weekly (1/2 hr. weekly show), and never miss a PFW In Progress webcast or In The Huddle. I e-mail them and my stuff gets read on-air within 30 minutes.
And even during the painfully boring training camp weeks, they have daily reports on who's performing well, who's not, and all that ridiculously obscure data like that all you guys love to lap up like the footbawl starved junkies most of us are.

I have no freaking clue what you guys are complaining about. No other team comes close to matching The Pats official website. Go around the league. Pats site is second to none. Ooo, takes more than 5, 10, 20 seconds to load? Kick back and daydream about something else you like then. Big fricking deal. Oh, you guys pretend like your time is worth something. Wrong. I'd happily wait a little while longer to get to somewhere I REALLY want to go.

('specially that Saints guy up there. Listen to that effing technobabble. I HATE that sh*t. Wtf were those commands? The launching sequence for the dang space shuttle? Good thing I have a Mac and don't have to tie my head in knots following those directions. The freaking equivalent of the cyberspece Hokey-Pokey."Put yer right foot in, put yer right foot out, put yer right foot in and shake it all about." No thanks, dude. The day I'm on a website giving commands as freaking bazaar as his, someone call the men in black, please.)

Hey, I remember when my dad would be up on the roof screwing with the antennae in southwest Connecticut so we could watch snowy Pats broadcasts on an obscure channel. When the cameras would show full field shots, we couldn't tell what was happening. Only when they did close ups could we piece together what must have been transpiring up in wonderful Foxboro. Every once in a while, they'd flash the score and then we'd get our "update".

Now we can access all this other mad data, audio & video galore, all 24/7/365. What a bunch of crying beatches you all are!!! I swear. I'm really taken aback on this thread over here. Patjew, you surprised me this one time.

That is true - aside from the annoying Bob's Guy, the other team sites out there don't provide the same amount of information - which makes it hard to research things week-to-week. I catch the press conferences as much as I can, although the podcasts I never get a chance to listen to live - I usually catch them on my Ipod.

But I do agree - if you take a second to surf around the other "official" websites out there, Patriots.com certainly has more info out there than the majority of the others.

Hey BM (Brooklyn Matt). It's hard to account for taste but I'll explain mine here.

Keep in mind that I'm in China, where the great firewall slows down the internet considerably (imagine a 28kbps modem). The Pats site is so loaded with stuff everywhere that it takes forever to load here and is barely useable. And the speed kills any video for me.

I also find the site way too busy. I'm a minimalist and I prefer sites to be clean and easy to use rather than chock full of everything. There's just too much going on there for my taste. It's the layout more than the content that bothers me. Also, I hate those stupid rollovers.

And that splash page they have. Who uses a splash page anymore. Hey, patriots.com, 1999 called and they want their website back. (Hey Patjew, 2005 called and they want that joke back.)

So, that's why I don't care for it.

I tried to log into the chat room Sunday night to talk with the other folks during the HOF Game, and I couldn't get in.

But I have to say I can't understand all the negativity. I have DSL at my house and the site maybe takes a couple extra seconds to load... there are other sites that are far worse.

I'm down on patriots.com, not patsfans.com. This place and Ian are perfect.

Okay, Mr. Patjew. After I posted my thingie, I said,"Oh, I betcha Patjew's dealio is different in China."
Nice to finally "meet" you. I've been reading you for the last few years. You kill me.
And ya stole my favorite 'spression' "There's no accounting for taste". I know the Brooklyn tag is misleading. It's the Tasteless capital of the Western Hemisphere, I know. I'm originally from the wealthiest county in the entire United States (Fairfield, Ct.) and did the whole New England boarding school deal. There. That ought to lay to rest any questioning of my taste.

btw, every time I see an orthodox guy like yer pic running around in my neighborhood in Williamsburg, I thinka you.

And Ian even talked to me too. Wow! Best day EVER for me on Patsfans. ima rubbing elbows with the big cheezes and stuff.

That's cool, it's nice to meet you. Ian is the biggest cheese. I am no cheese.

Brooklyn is cool. Fairfield is where "Who's the Boss?" took place, if I recall correctly. I hope it's OK if I picture you like this from now on.

Oh, perfect. Patjew, you lobbed me a softball. I kick myself in the ass all the time by saying,"What kinda moron am I? I did 'Who's The Boss' in REVERSE!!! Now I know what Tony Danza was running away from." Fairfield to Brooklyn? That's backwards. And that's exactly what it looks like in Fairfield.

And you are totally the master of Minimalism. King of the one liners. I've always been a proponent of quantity over quality, tho. For example, I'd rather have a large record collection with some scratches in them, or a lotta tapes with little bit 'o hiss on 'em, than I would a fewer number of the same recordings which all sounded pristine in comparison.

And I love it when Konta and Andy Johnson get all longwinded and break up each other's posts into little bits and pieces and meticulously dismantle the other's arguments while trying their best to retain their composure. Every once in a while they can't restrain themselves and needle one another. Patjew, that's some good theatre.

Nice to meet you.

Patjew, what in tha heck do you do in China? That's been the $64,000 question on a lotta people's minds over here for the longest time. My uncle blew off his law practice in Massachusetts & went to work in the U.S. Embassy in Russia after the fall of Communism, but I can't figger out what tha heck yer doin' over there. Running a China White pipeline back to The States er sumpthin'? (I betcha that's what it is.)

Getting back to the topic of Patriots.com vs. the rest of the league, I just hopped on looking for updates from today on their website - and there are none. No blog updates, nothing. I would have thought that as a Super Bowl winning team they'd have more of an interest in improving their coverage, but apparently not.

Patriots.com is handy for slightly outdated roster info, stadium layout and parking info and stuff like TC practise days and times but otherwise I agree with those who find its web design awfull. WAY too crowded. Not easy to navigate. I am somewhat surprised that with all the emphasis and effort the Krafts put into marketing that their site is mediocre.
