I'll admit, I read this quick and assumed it was just another "we signed who? this is stupid!" thread and was about to jump on you... then I read closer and chuckled.

Stapleton is very intriguing. He started at RG for the Steelers during there last SB season. Was IR'd last 8/31. Supposedly he is 100% healthy.

Darnell Stapleton

From Scouts:
....he is tenacious and didn't back down from any challenge. He has good initial quickness and gets off the ball low. Stapleton can get to the second level effectively and is athletic enough to long pull.

Stapelton seems to be the bigger deal because of our need for bodies at LG, but does anyone know anything about Willingham? Any potential there or another camp fodder / shadow roster type of deal?

Re: Pats sign G Darnell Stapleton and CB Willingham

sounds like an upgrade over kaczur.

If healthy, it adds another body to the mix at least. The more people we have competing, the more likely it is we find a suitable player. And that's all we really need, with four solid starters at the other OL positions, we just need someone who's not a disaster at LG.

Not the immortal buddy farmum.

d%#*!@t, hopefully Farnham will be back:mad:

Could Stapleton be the first black guy on the Patriots offensive line?

Stapleton still young, could be interesting if healthy.

My thoughts exactly.

As for Farnham, I honestly expected to see him on the PS. Oh well...

Was this the first official cut of camp? Because I had Farnham in the contest

I think Thomas Clayton was the first cut.

Don't know much about Stapleton but at least he's a body to throw into the mix at guard.

Maybe Farnham will become somebody else's Wes Welker. But we've already met our small slot receiver quota. Good luck to him. Glad to hear us adding more bodies at guard to compete.
