Who is the first Patriot with a Patriot SB ring to get inducted into the Hall of Fame?

I was just debating this with my brothers and father and seems like alot of our candidates hung onto their careers until recently or are still playing. Keep in mind this can count guys like CD or Ted Washington (if they are Hall of Famers) who may have grabbed one ring in a quick stint and even JR who didnt get the ring.


OH and shout out to those who went in tonite. Floyd Little, Emmit Smith, Jerry Rice, **** Lebbeau, Russ Grimm,John Randle and Rickey Jackson

It may be Vinatieri. He's on his last legs, and the man played a big part in winning 4 rings. Just a matter of how long it takes for him to get in. It shoudnt be too long. He has a pretty unique legacy.

Rodney Harrison. He is the first of the big names to retire who is Hall of Fame worthy without the bias against his position or because he wasn't the "biggest or best" at his position. He was huge(IMHO) before he came to New England but stayed here long enough to be in this discussion.

After him it's gotta be Brady only because Vinetieri will play longer and being a kicker will have to face all the anti-kicker BS that comes with it despite his strong resume.

I would like to see Bruschi in there but that ain't happening for a long time, probably not until the other "great" LBs from the late 90s and early 2000s are in.

Ted W was my first guess but then I was suprised to find out CD (2007) actually retired before him. Any candidate retire before 2007?

A huge longshot would even be Larry Centers, as he was a nominee the last 2 years and is I believe 7th or 8th all-time in receptions.

This is off-topic, but I totally just realized something about Vinatieri...the Pats are 0-2 in Super Bowls without him and 3-1 with him...the Colts are 1-0 with and 0-1 without...is this guy a lucky charm?

Nice one who knows if really gets in but as you say he has been up for discussion our sure fires are mostly at least 4 or 5 years away or still playing.

I'm not sure if this warrants an entirely new thread, but what Patriots from the 2000s do you think will have their numbers retired? I'm thinking Brady, Bruschi, Vinatieri, possibly Welker, Harrison, Moss. Although I don't like the idea of retiring numbers. I mean, the Pats have quite a few retired numbers, and what do you see? People sharing numbers in the offseason. That just seems odd to me.

I like the Ted Washington pick. You could include Drew Bledsoe, but I dont think he's a lock like Ted should be.

I believe that is the one loss in the team's 3-1 SB record with AV that the poster included in his comment.

He only made it to the preliminary round...he has a long road ahead of him but maybe in a lean year he could sneak by and get some folks who remember his contributions.

I am not holding out hope for him frankly...he deserves it but I am thinking that his best shot may be via the veterans committee in 2028.

You could include Drew Bledsoe, but I dont think he's a lock like Ted should be.

Drew will be one of the first inductees into the Hall of Very Good. He will not be in the Hall of Fame.

I think Rodney Harrison could get in first been out of the league for 2 years now I know he had a lot of bad publicity however he is the only player to have 30 picks and sacks I think that everyone in the 20/20 club will get in.

funny thing, i don't remember rodney getting much bad pub while in sd. only when he came to the pats did espn turn on him. seemed he went from ferocious hitter to cheap shot artist over night.

Who in tha heck are CD and JR? I'm shur the second I'm told, I'd go "duh. Oh yeah." but I'm drawing a blank right now.
Oh, and Bledsoe's stats are easily "Hall Worthy". Look 'em up. They're insane and he's on a lot of q.b. stat categories that rank him in the top 10 in NFL history. But I always wanted to strangle that guy walking off the field while being interviewed after a loss and the guy just looked so damn disinterested. Show a little PASSION for your team, you're the fricking quarterback, why don't cha? Freaking Lurch.
