Is he injured? Did he have a lingering injury that he brought into camp. Did he whiff the conditioning test?

A cynical guy (like myself) might suggest that this is a direct result of blowing off the offseason workouts in favor of hanging on campus. You guys gave me a hard time about slamming Warren for missing the offseason work; now he may be paying for it.

Warren was on the field early on in training camp and sustained some sort of injury during the 3rd or fourth practice.

I would never question this guys work ethic as he has proven himself to be a quality lineman all the way.

We need him back for sure..........

What are you going on about? You are knocking the guy because he completed his degree? How the hell do you know if he was working out or not? You don't. You're acting like a fool..

Warren wasn't PUPed so he passed the test. I know you don't like to, but could you do a better job of using your brain?

Are you certain that Ty did not work out in his home town???

Warren has been consistently injured for the past 2 years. This isn't something that came up overnight, and he's an unquestionably hard-working guy who has become a bit injury-prone (kinda like Seymour was 3 years ago when everyone piled on him, but that's a different topic for a different thread). Anyways, I dunno why you'd attribute something from this offseason to it unless you were just looking for worst-case scenarios to dwell on.

No. Its because he ripped Warren for missing OTAs to get his degree, so he wants to make it seem like Warren sat around, did nothing and is out of shape to make it look like he was right.

Exactly, and it's not like we have almost a decade of prior work to indicate that he's not at all the sort of player who would do that, or anything. Assuming that we're dealing with Andre Brown is totally reasonable ;)

But but but think about all the regression he had to have done sitting out! Think of all the new things he missed out on! Think of all the schemes and plays that he now has to learn that the others must already know for being there!

Surely none of that stuff can't have been learned from sitting with a coach and discussing in person, watching video, or have changed little in impact for him personally!

Nah, he missed them to further his education and do something for the good of himself so therefor he must have missed out on a whole lot of things he probably already knew or couldn't learn in some other fashion...

And I thought we had passed the boring part of the season..

I don't buy the degree thing; he could have done that after his playing career is over. It certainly sounds all great and apple-pie but it does not wash. It is like the town of Newton building a new High School or my town building an elderly center or Providence building anything; sounds great on paper until the bill comes in.

Working out on your own can seldom be as effective as being with the team. When you blow off the off-season training program the onus is on you to have an outstanding season; so far Warren is not. Maybe it is just bad luck. Maybe not.

Ack. Maybe I am turning into the next Felger.....ugh.

Listen, you've continuously shown a lack of getting it.. You claiming he "blew off the Off-season training program" is BS. Did you ever stop to think that he did his degree work with Belichick's FULL CONSENT?? BB is known for encouraging his players to finish their education. If he's got the team's consent, how is that blowing off the program? Also, what do you know, exactly, of the off-season program? Do you know ANYTHING about it? What it consists of? Also, how do you know that Warren wasn't in Boston on the weekends consulting with the training staff on what he needed to be doing?

As for working out on your own being as effective as working out with the team during the off-season, the only thing you miss is the friendships and team building.. But Warren has been with the team for long enough where he's established and can afford to not be here for the entire off-season time.

I'm with you, man. I mean, Warren doesn't even have a single QB pressure this season! What a bum!

He sprained his arse whilst sitting on the FieldTurf reading a textbook for one of his courses.

Was gonna say you've been listening to Felger too much but you seem to be aware of your problem, next step is to work on it, turn off the radio or put music on is a start.

Yup. I've learned the only way to cure Felger induced rage is to stop listening to him. I'm hoping enough people do that and he either loses his show, or is forced to get a new shtick... unfortunately, too many sports fans in this town are masochistic.

No one can deny that beginning with the 2007 season, Warren hasn't been nearly as effective as he was in the years prior, when he outplayed even Seymour. Whether this is due to nagging injuries, or having signed a contract extension, is open for discussion. The fact remains, however, that he isn't the same player now that he was before the extension.

Who will ever forget Ahmad Bradshaw practically carrying Warren in the first quarter of the Super Bowl against the Giants?

FWIW while we still don't know what happened to Ty Warren, the not so good news this AM is that while Bill reported that all other players are day to day, he lumped Warren in with Kaczur as guys who have been out for a while now whom the docs are still evaluating...

Edit - per Reiss this AM according to a Comcast source Warren's problem is an ailing hip...

Unless this is something degenerative in nature ala Bo Jackson i don't think this is a major injury. Maybe he has a hip pointer?

He's been out for 12 days and per BB the docs are still evaluating both he and Kaczur. BB mentioning those two in the same breath knowing Nick has told his teamates he will be out for a long time if not the season isn't a positive sign...

I think a hip flexor could keep someone out for a while
