If you’ve listened to sports radio or read anything on Boston.com or CSNNE.com recently, you know that the Patriots and Tom Brady are embroiled in a bitter, bitter contract dispute, with both sides trading barbs in the media and each side refusing to budge an inch from their positions. It’s gotten so bad that Brady doesn’t want to play here any more, and the Patriots, who are sick of his diva act, are ready to move on with Brian Hoyer as the face of their franchise through the next decade.

Brady Contract Strife Set To Ruin 2010 Season For Patriots

lol - gotta say, I chortled.

Kraft is clearly not below issuing cold threats to his players to keep them in line, and to remind them that he is the owner, and they are his servants, only there to do his beckoning.

I am just so grateful that we have such a brave corps of fine media representatives in this region who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth and tell things just as they are. They are out there, fighting the battle for Brady, on the airwaves and in print, stomping down the dictatorial words and attitude of one Robert Kraft and his quest to keep Tom Brady underpaid an prevent him from living his life as he sees fit!

This is great.... ummm I mean... is terrible terrible stuff. Someone needs to hold Mr. Kraft (if that is his real name) accountable!

See .. you just have to read between the lines!

Brian Hoyer for the next decade? They are taking a QB with one of their first four picks in the first two rounds for the future.

That was a funny read, I wonder of the media have any idea how foolish they look trying to exaggerate this situation just to sell their worth to the Boston fans ?

I can't wait until someone who only reads the thread title and skips over the (IMO, excellent) satirical article, comes in here and blasts you for that. As an aside, I didn't know Bruce Allen was taking time out of his busy day as the Redskins GM to write for you guys. ;)

Times like this are when I kinda enjoy living in L.A.- it's so easy to tune hometown media out. I can only imagine how sports talk radio is hyping this up as the apocalypse. Good satire, I enjoyed it- best way to combat raging idiots.

Behind the scenes, the true maestro of the Gillette operation is Danny " the Gimlet Maker" Doonan, personal bartender to the Krafts. "Crush the will of your players as I crush the pulp of this lemon" he often advises Kraft. "Put 4 olives in your martini, at least two will taste good" he explains to Belichick on draft day. "You don't need premium top shelf brands, go for the well...and put aside a bottle for next year, why don't ya! And I love your MILF's rack!"

Whether you make a dollar or you make millions of dollars like we do make, I really enjoy playing quarterback for this team.”

Guess who opened themselves up to get offered a 10 year, 10 dollar contract. Chump! Everyone knows Kraft is cheap!

We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with him right here in Foxboro.”

Read: If you don't take the 10 dollar deal I will take away your birthday!

I hate Mr. Kraft and Brady for not doing what the media is speculating about. Shame on them!:bricks:

I can't wait until some media outlet picks the story up and runs it as a serious piece, "MORE EVIDENCE OF TURMOIL IN PATRIOT NATION."

Sadly, that's a MUCH more likely outcome.....

That might just be the best article written ever.

In a related story, Kraft is selling the team to Victor Kiam's ghost, moving the team to St. Louis, and renaming them The New England St. Louis Rams 2.

Another good read. Funny, sad and true. :)

Tom E. Curran is an enigma to me. He seems like such a guy's guy, I want to like him but he really does just go off the deep end from time to time. Plus why are they always calling him the "Patriots Insider" on CSN? Every bit of "insider" info he's ever broken has been wrong. And it really bugs me how he can't seem to figure out what to do with his hands whenever he's on camera.

The Onion could not have written a better parodic satire about the situation...

And I would not be the least bit surprised that the local mediots find this and try to spin it as a homeristic author drinking the local Kool Aid

I heard they're staying in NE and will be called the Gillete Schick Classic B1tch.

Great article! I love that "Onion" type stuff!

What's so funny is that when I heard Kraft say "Brady will be here one way or the other", I took that to mean they would do whatever it takes to get the contract done so Tom retires a Patriot.

Then, I listen to Felger and he says, "No, that statement means Brady WILL BE franchised! Didn't you hear the frustration in his voice?"

I didn't hear that at all. I heard an owner that LOVES his QB and a QB that wants to concentrate on football.

As it goes, to me, there are a handful of Boston athletes that achieve the rarified air of being allowed to name their price and finish their careers here.

They are, in no particular order:

Celtics:
Bird (Played his whole career in Boston)
Russell (Played his whole career in Boston)

Red Sox:
Williams (Played his whole career in Boston)
Yaz (Played his whole career in Boston)
(BTW, at one point, I actually put Nomar in this group, but then he imploded mentally...)

Bruins:
Orr (Did not play his whole career in Boston)
Espo (Did not play his whole career in Boston)
Borque (Did not play his whole career in Boston)
(Is there a trend here? I'm just sayin'...)

Pats:
Brady

Koolaid drinking homer.

I took it to mean he will have Brady whacked and wall him up in the lighthouse at Gillette if he didn't sign.

And since I took it to mean that, I am now an "NFL source" for ESPN. Quick, anybody got a phone???
