Just watched on ESPN2 the NFL films about the decade of the NE Patriots. I thought that it was a 2009 yearbook like the one they showed on the Steelers just before.

It was a half hour recap in which the NFL declares the Patriots the team of the decade. I'll have to order this, as it brought a lump in my throat watching it.

If on 1/1/2000 someone would have told me that the Patriots, my Patriots, would win 3 out of 4 SB's and break all kinds of records for wins, I told them they were nuts. I would have settle for one SB win.

That was a great film to watch even as short as it was.

Watched it while at the gym, obviously nothing else was on. ;)

Have to say though that Bruschi and Rodney Harrison were some real great football players. They were what those Patriot teams were about and part of the reason they reigned over the NFL for those years.

Glad they're gone but I would have loved them if they were on my team.

Okay, I've said too much already, Jets suck!:bricks:

I watched it as well...a very good piece.

It was an eye opener to see how much the team has changed from the SB years until now, especially on the defensive side of the ball. This is a completely new Patriots team and it is time for them to build their legacy.

Damn, I missed it. I'll look out for it on Hulu.

Not to encourage anything illegitimate or anything, but if anyone finds it online somewhere, pretty please drop me an IM sil vouz plait' :D

That was a good recap, most of it I've seen in other places. Says alot when the only 09 highlights in the 09 highlight video are from the Titans and Jags games. Kinda surprised they didn't throw the opener in there too. But overall it was fun putting the last decade in perspective.

Thankfully there were no SB42 lowlights. No Brady injury lowlights. No Colts lowlights. And most definitely no Ray Rice lowlights.

So rather than the piece actually being an '09 yearbook' it was actually about the Pats being the 'team of the decade'. Interesting that espn scheduled the Steelers '09 yearbook' immediately prior - doubtful it was a coincidence. I guess the placement makes them runnerup to the mythical 'team of the decade' - though I'm sure it must have irked all the Pittsburgh fans that watched the Steeler segment, and then realized it was simply the undercard to the main show.

And who caused them to be the under card;] There probably never will be another run like that and if there is, doubtful anytime soon. Gone are the days when SBs were common here, I'd die for one now. After seeing Indy and Pittsburgh raise the trophy it makes me feel as if the Patriots have to

We were the team of the decade, one of the very best decades in the history of the nfl. And yet, people still whine.

Team of the Decade

As it should be. Was there really a question?

In any case, I suppose we can be like those Steeler and 49er fans now talking about the good old days. At least we have fond memories to look back on when things get depressing. Though I must say that I see the Pats contending for a good long while, because I think a lot of these draft picks will pan out.

To highlight an idea expressed earlier in this thread. That dynasty is over. Here's to hoping for the start of a new dynasty.

I was lucky enough to catch it without knowing it was going to be on. It was really a great 30 minute program.

I kid you not. They called the Colts "the runner up for the Team of the Decade".

So I guess Polian will be ordering another banner for the Lube.

Polian has probably filed a protest with NFL films and wants a re-count.

Polian has notified NFL films that he will oversee the re-count.

I think you mean, that He will do the counting and oversee it at the same time.

I think I might have TiVO'd this, but I have not watched it yet.

The one I caught said "2009 Yearbook" or something like that...I also thought it was just a recap of the 2009 season.

Hope the one I caught is the one you're talking about.

It's a new decade, clean slate. Time to move on.

I watched it as well.

IMO The Steelers are the runners-up. 2 SB wins. 4 AFCCC appearances....

You are kidding, right?

We do have some "what have you done for me today fans". But the majority of us who were fans in the 60's 70's,80's and early 90's, understand and appreciate what a remarkable acheivement this past 10 years have been. We remember the dark days when this team and franchise we the laughing stock of the entire sports world. We remember worrying about losing the team to another area several times.

So yes it is a new year and a new decade and we are all looking forward to what that will bring. But only the most spoiled of newbie fans can just "move on" from what might have been the greatest decade for any NFL team taken in total.

Anyone know when there will be a replay? I forgot to see my DVR and I'm not seeing anything on Zap2It under "Patriots" and/or "2009 Yearbook." Love to see this.
