Wes was back in full uni today which means he is off the PUP which is great to see but to be honest I think he was doing more work when he was with the trainers. :D By my count he did not drop a pass and looked pretty crisp....He is wearing a rather large brace on the knee.

The friend I was with Sister goes out with Myron Pryor so we spent a good portion watching him and he looks pretty good should hold onto his role from last year. He has huge legs and a wide butt and seems hard to move and gets some decent penetration.

While watching Pryor Welch stood out a little as a really big kid who seems to be able to handle his own.

Tate almost made one nasty grab on the sidelines but it got brokenup then he almost caught it again.

make this one quick as the friends are coming by.

Is Welker's brace bigger than regular braces for this type of injury or it just looks big because he's relatively small? How many snaps did he take? Was he taking it easier than he normally would?

Thanks.

It's probably a bigger one because he's back from the injury so soon, as a precaution if anything. Don't want to risk running him out there with a small brace.

Picture off the Patriots facebook page. Thought it might answer your questions about his brace :)

Looks very small to me.... and if he's wearing it while playing... I'm not worried at all about retearing... a brace with a reconstructed knee is probably better than a normal knee!

I believe I read somewhere a while back that it was his intention to not wear a brace during games?

Thanks for that :D Looks like a normal sized brace. Maybe the OP just didn't get a good a look?

really it still looks big to me that thing starts half way up his upper leg and extends half way down his lower leg.

Anyway back infront of a computer add a few more notes.

Moss had a fun moment he gave a football to a kid in the crowd for him to throw moss a pass not a bad thow either and a nice catch. Moss is the man and I am sure he made the kids day not to mention most in the crowd.

I thought Cunningham looked good today he did some work as end in nickle pakcage with Tully on the other side and two linemen. Had one play where I thought he got thru nice and a as an OLB I thought he had a play where he would have stopped the run but due to no contact it continued.

Bodden broke up the tate play I spoke of in my OP.

Gronkowski ended the day in redzone work with IMO the play of the day. Nothing amazing spectacular but a nice physical play. Gronk caught a 5 yard out maybe 3 and then pretty just leaned and used his big body to carry into the endzone. He is a big kid and it will be hard to stop him from just falling forward for a few extra yards on any given catch.

Andy Hart PFW online

Official Patriots Football Weekly Blog Blog Archive From the Hart: Practice 7 observations

The wide receivers fell into an interesting if not necessarily telling order for most drills early in practice. Randy Moss kicked things off each time, followed on seemingly every rep in line by Welker, Julian Edelman, Brandon Tate and Sam Aiken, with the rest of the receivers after that. Take it for what it’s worth.

Just yesterday the rotation was Moss, Edelman, Tate, etc. so I actually DO think the WR drill rotation means something. But if it does, whither Holt? A true rook like Price would be expected at the rear at least the 1st week of camp.

Not sure if it means anything as I have noticed Holt always seems to be last and IMO he has to be further up the pecking order then farnham and the like. My thinking is he is a vet and knows his duty and is just here for insurance let the 4 who will do the most get the reps and then let th younguns get the reps and they know what Holt will give them.

But it certainly could be a bad sign for him.

I think you're right on this.

Wow.. weird.. it's funny how random things hit ppl at the same time. I posted my blog and tweeted it right before Andy Hart and mentioned about the order thing.. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, just an observation...lol

Just read your post and that Moss play you called the leaning tower of Pisa was right in front of us and it was a nice catch and he definitely kept the toes in. Moss is so gifted and makes nice catches every day and sometimes I forget to mention him in my posts as I think we all know we can count on him but he certainly deserves the shout outs.

Good to see the brace looks normal... looks the same as the one Brady wore last year. I don't like the fact that Aiken is ahead of Holt though. I was always willing to give Aiken a shot until near the end last year, he let quite a few good long passes bounce off and out of his hands that could have made a huge difference. I want Holt and everybody else before him.

Do Holt & Price practice with Brady at all?

Get your 85 Jerseys now!!!!

Hernandez runs welker like routes at the TE/H-back posistion and has great hands! My prediction is he will be an absolute steal from the 4th round. He reminds me of D. Clark and LBs will not be able to cover him. Gronk also looks very good and should defianatly help the run game and the redzone. He is a huge target with soft hands. The TE/WR position is stacked this year. Too bad we didnt draft a young stud RB because the Offense will have to carry this team. No way we get a pash rush with TBC and a rookie and this will expose our young LB and secondary against the pass.

Gronkowski is a very big dude, fast for his size... he and Light took a lap for being offsides..

You started well, and then became a pessimist. How do you know what will happen? If you do, and can see the future, why aren't you buying lottery tickets ;)

I'm not one to get into combine numbers and still because I firmly believe it is overrated, but you can't help but take notice when a 6'6, 265 pounds guy runs a 4.65 40. That's pretty remarkable.
