And on the seventh day God created football and the New England Patriots, and he saw it was good. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

And the dark angel shat from heaven a turd named polian.

Thank god, this is first time I have this excited about pre-season!

All starts with Bengals-Cowboys next Sunday, 8 p.m.

NFL Schedule: Preseason

While I'm excited about the preseason, September 9th is already circled on my calendar. IMO, Minnesota at New Orleans from the Superdome on Thursday Night Football... there's no better way to start the season off.

:rocker:

I was just at a football game this weekend, and I am going to the opening round of the playoffs this coming weekend to cheer on the Jax Sharks!

If you hate the complete emptiness that is NFL over the summer... then go check out AF1 football...

Jax sharks is selling out their games, the action is awesome, and atmosphere is just as good as any other sporting event. Throw in the fact that you can take a family of 12 on the same it costs a family of 4 to go to an NFL game, and you have all the ingredients for a great football experience int he NFL off season.

Are they using the quarter beer night to do so like the Jacksonville Sun? I was a very avid Jacksonville Sun fan when they had quarter beers.

I watched the Roughriders/Tiger-Cats game on NFL network yesterday, and that was when it hit me that I really, really miss having football on.

Thats a big AMEN

I wanted to post something witty, but I couldn't find the right words. I'm just smiling right now.

Is it me or was this one of the longest offseasons I've remembered in a while? Even worse than in 2003 or 2008.

Hey Nikolai -- love your tagline quote. I think that sort of genius requires some sort of credit for the author, don't you think? It's only fair!

Right you are sir. Fixed.

Interesting game to watch and the crowds seem to be into the games as much as NFL crowds.

I played Canadian football at the HS level during my senior year. It's a weird game, especially as a DE coming from American football. It took some adjusting.

Oh, and they do still have the 20 yard end zone. Whether or not they still have the goalposts on the goal line is something I'm not sure about, however, but they did in 1997.

In the game I watched yesterday, the uprights were right on the goal line. It was weird.

I never got used to them being on the field. I always pictured myself jamming a TE or a HB into one, using the upright as an "assist", but such opportunities never arose. I was surprised how little they came into play.

Hard to believe it's been 36 years since they moved them back...

True, and generally speaking, running plays seemed to rarely go inside the tackles. There was a lot of real estate usually in the flats, even with the extra player out there. It was a pretty busy year for me.
