Let's see...

Hard Knocks HBO special:
Trading for tons of Pro-bowl talent
AFC Championship game last year
#1 Pre-season ranking (CNNSI.com)
Winning the superbowl last year after week #2 against the Patriots 16-9.

My question is this:

How many superbowls do they win this year alone? I'm guessing at least 3.

follow up: Do the Patriots even dare to show up against them in week 2 of this year, or do they miss the flight or something, and forfeit?

The gut has a point....

Breaking News: Rex Ryan wins Daytime Emmy award

Another Jets thread that will just mean more posts by Jets fans!

Another Jets thread.

The stupidity of the Jet fan base and there unrealistic expectations is going to a big topic this year with NFL fans. Pats fans no how hard it is to win a Super Bowl, and the idea that a team with one of the worst QBs in the NFL will win 13/14 games and go Super Bowl is hilarious to us.

Most of us don't like people from NY/NJ so laughing about the upcoming inplosion is fun. So GFY

Were you on those Patriots teams that won a Super Bowl? Or other Pats fans for that matter? What a stupid post.

I really think there is a ton of hype, but some of it is not unwarranted. As a Pat's fan, I respect and fear the TALENT the Jets have. In fact the only group we may have the Jets beat is at QB and WR (though they are closing the gap in that area). They have a very good defense, that with their offseason additions, may indeed make them the best D in football (if they get Revis in camp). They were also 2 quarters away from going to the Super Bowl.

Any fans not recognizing how talented they are, are just being ignorant as football fans. That being said, amassing talent, doesn't always guarantee a Super Bowl Trophy (See Pats of 2007 and Vikings of 1999). Also, having a blowhard head coach who one moment is crying because his team isn't making the playoffs (without realizing the mathematical truth), and the next moment guaranteeing a Super Bowl spot after teams layed down for them to make the playoffs, certainly makes that coach look like a bufoon.

Many things can happen between now and Feb 2011, injuries, bad chemistry, etc. Plus the whole 2010 schedule for the AFC East is very difficult. We shall see.

stop adding wood to the fire, no more jets threads please!!!

Ad the OP, my intention was to RAG on the hype. Thus the question asking how many Superbowls they will win THIS YEAR ALONE.

These guys were not that good last year, and all of the sudden they are the 85 Bears, with Joe Montana at QB, and Lombardi coaching. I can't get enough. I'm hoping for an SI cover sometime before week 2.

As a Die Hard Patsfan...I have to say, its quite nice NOT to be the team to knock off this year (aside form the fact that we won the division last year). Its nice to NOT be talked about as much as before. Its nice to not have to CONSTRUCT disrespect, the media, and the league are already doing that for us. We can simply concentrate on building the unit, playing situational football and DOING YOUR JOB.

BREAKING NEWS: Rex Ryan has already won coach of the year...

every year the media looks for a new AFC team to hype they have been talking about the texans. for the last 4 years as being the next great team they only have one winning season in there history

so a team like the jets who made it to the AFCCG and then add it a all pro CB and a all pro WR so they want to make them the team to beat

the last 10 years + only a few teams out of the AFC other then the pats steelers and colts have made it to the SB so fans and the media want to hype the jets bangels and texans. as the next AFC super bowl teams

will it happen i don't think so the colts are still the best team in the AFC the steelers still have the most talent of any team in the NFL on defense. and the pats are not going down with out a fight.

They added an awful corner who 4 years ago had good interception total, not an all-pro and a WR on suspension who has had 1 1000 yard season, not an all-pro.

What day and time does the first Hard Knocks air?

They were also 2 quarters away from going to the Super Bowl.
By that line of thinking, they were two laydowns from being 7-9.

But I suppose when the Pats play in NJ this fall, we will get to see the banner reading "TWO QUARTERS AWAY FROM GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL." They are already selling, "DIDN'T WE ALMOST MAKE IT?" T-shirts in the Jets Pro Shop, I understand.

No dumbass we have seen Championship Teams up close. Something most Jet fans haven't. We aren't as stupid as you Jersey pinheads who think JaMarkus Sanchez is going to take you to a 14 win season.
