As an afficionado of Belichick's one-liners, particularly those used to blow off the media, this could go down as an all-time classic.

From Reiss:

'Belichick was asked to explain why the pictures inside the team’s facility all came down this offseason. “The walls needed to get painted,” he said.'

That is just so beautiful.

I LOVE it...

"There's no pictures of Troy Brown, there's no pictures of Tedy Bruschi, no pictures of Rodney Harrison in the building. It's all wiped off. It's [saying], 'Get your own identity. Get a name for yourselves and don't worry about what Troy Brown did or Rodney Harrison did for this football team."

-Troy Brown

(In a similar move Coach Rex Ryan has removed ALL pictures of Joe Namath)

man this guy is fun

One of the funniest things he's said... and there's always that element of truth, but still never really answering the question the way the person asking is hoping for. Classic BB.

Absolutely classic. I love that line, and I like the real reason behind the picture removal - this year's theme could be "The Pats, not the Past".

In a similar move, Rex Ryan removed all the pictures of Joey Chestnut and hot dogs from his office refrigerator.

The only picture left in the entire facility is Belichick's Bon Jovi poster...

It's his life, he'll do what he wants to...

:)

If the Pats are going to use Bon Jovi for their TD music, I still think they should use "Have a Nice Day". . . .

Is this permanent?

He isn't lying...but he isn't telling the whole truth and his answer covers the question so you can't really probe too much into it lest the rest of the interview be affected. Master at wordplay and a master at manipulation and thankfully he was being interviewed by one of the few who get it and play along as well for their own good

If this wasn't Reiss we would have an investigation and speculation about the "why" and have rumors abound for the rest of the year...but we have our answer and he is sticking to it and not probing- which is why we love Reiss so much here :D:cool:
