Absolutely! A meteor hits the locker room and only he survives.

LOL, thats classic.

And I agree - as much as I like Patten and want him on the team for sentimental reasons, this team is deep at WR (suddenly). Patten will only be making the team if we suffer 2 WR injuries, and dear god, I hope that does not happen.

No way Patten makes the roster. He is to old and we have a lot of depth at WR with Moss, Welker, Edelman, Holt, Tate, Price,Aiken(maybe for ST)

His job isn't to make the team. His job is to make the team better. :)

Is there no way, or is there NO WAY?

I could see Patten making the team instead of Holt.

I think he could end up as one of those "shadow roster" guys. So if we need him at some point during the season due to injuries, we can always throw him right in.

That is so very funny. Thank you for that!
The very first time I stumbled across this site, in its former incarnation, that thread was raging. That was in 2004 I think!
Its incredible that this questions can again be legitimately asked again in 2010.

Can Patten play outside linebacker?

Yes he can ... but several WRs would have to be hurt in order for this to happen!

Great to bring back one of the best all time threads!

It got to the point where the # of replies was redonculous.

I recall posting something about him having hands of glue, and people were shouting me down.

so,

to give my 2 cents, I'd say there is always a chance, but his are slim. I love the guy, but we have some talent at wideout this year....

I hope.

Sure he can. Can he return punts? This team does not have a PR.

You are wrong. I went to the evening TC session. He still has his speed.

I'd have him ahead of Aiken as regards chances of making the roster.

from another guy who was there I was suprised at how Patten still looked like he has it.

It is going to be a real tough choice to let him go but I think there is just no room. IMO his most sure way would be to beat out Holt and I am not sure that will happen. I am a huge Patten fan but not sure he can beat out the guys ahead of him but based on day one I think he should be able to play for someone this year.

lol - Patten gonna also come off of major holidays and be an ace special-teamer?

I can't. Holt is just that much better a receiver than Patten. I just don't see it happening..
