I think the line is better at pass than run. But the only reason they are any good at all is Brady and his quick decision/release. Take him away and they are barely adequate at both. They need help at Center and R Guard. An if Mankins sits....
When they are healthy, top 10, if not top 5.
When injury strikes; somewhere in the top 32
Wish I could rank top 5, but unsure if we make it there since Mankins is holding up. Not to mention plugging his spot with ok backups, and im still not convinced we have the right side stabilized with Kaczur. So that puts us somewhere between 6-10
This is the greatest indictment of Connolly that I have yet seen. If you are right, then we VERY, VERY badly need to sign or trade for a backup offensive lineman.
when brady is the QB they are a top 5 pass blocking team.
in 2007 pretty much the same line gave up 21 sacks last year again pretty much the same line gave up 18 sacks. but in 2008 with out brady they gave up 48 sacks
and we all seen with a top pass rushing team can do to this line even with brady at QB thats why i said 11 to 15
I'm assuming that Kaczur can come in and do a commendable job of replacing Mankins' production and Vollmer can grow at the RT position. With those assumptions in mind, I don't see why our O-Line can't be top five when they are all healthy. The quality of the depth is another argument, though.
We will be fine if Kaczur can do "a commendable job of replacing Mankins' production"????????????
I am certainly a Kaczur fan, but I don't pin my hopes on Kaczur being anything but an average LG. He is not Mankins.
