I went trough this list twice because i couldn't believe Brady wasn't in the top Fifty highest payed athletes

I think he is like the 12th highest paid QB in the league this season. He doesn't really do too much endorsing, so this isnt really a huge surprise.

That may be true, but he gets well compensated for it; IIRC, Brady is second to Mr. "I'll Endorse ANYthing!" in endorsement income.

He does a ton of endorsing, its all just in print media for stuff like Movado and Stetson.

That's due in very large part to the fact that his contract is frontloaded; he's making less this year than in other year's of his current contract. I'd say it's a given he will be on that list next year (assuming no lockout) - regardless of whether he signs a nrew contract or is franchised.

Matthew Stafford gets $26million next season! Sh*t!

Wow. Mark Sanchez is on the list and Brady is not. That's just rediculous. That just goes to show the problem with the rookie pay scale, or non existance of one. How do you win all those SB's and get paid less than a one year rookie. I mean I'm glad we got a Jet on the list but holy crap.

This is just a function of his last contract. He was extremely front loaded, which was to his advantage. At the time most big deal included huge years at the end of the contract which would either be renegotiated or the player would never see.(see the Bledsoe $100MMM deal) Instead the Pats took care of Brady upfront with 2 huge years in 2005-6, while having a small year to end the contract.

I don't understand how people see this thing in such a vacuum of one year. He signed a 60MM 5 year deal and will be paid every cent of that deal. Now its simply time to do a new deal

I guess that explains it.

Sorry, didn't look at the actual criteria for people who met the list. Assumed it was based on an average or something. I get it now.

Was Gisselle included in computing all this. She's priceless and that alone would make Brady #1. Well OK, maybe crack the top 50. :bricks:
