T.O would take less for us...

Looks like he has begun the begging portion of his career.
I think BB should string him along until he comes out as says he would give up 8-1 for Moss then say no thanks.
I would have my popcorn ready for that.

Last year I would have, reluctantly, been interested.

Since then we've added Holt and Price, Tate has returned and we improved our receiving TE also. Pass.

you wouldnt give him the vet min. but give it to patten, smh...

I know, terrible! Pattern is such a locker room trouble! And the chance of him making the roster is 100% and isn't here to help the young WRs at all!

I don't think TO is accepting a contract if isn't likely to make the team where as Patten was happy to come back here in hopes of competing for the final roster spot (which no one thinks he will get).

The fact T.O. is crying because he has never been disciplined for off-field issues and others have is, at the very least, disturbing. He somehow has deluded himself to believe one quiet year in Buffalo absolves him of his history of on-field issues with 3 other teams over the balance of his career.

His problem has always been inopportune drops that offset explosive potential on the field. I have no idea what he has left in terms of speed and quickness, but if he cannot hold on to the ball when it is thrown to him, he represents nothing more than a potential locker room problem. He would be equivalent to Galloway's results last year, along with a strong desire to discuss his status and issues with the media. No thanks.

It's hard to imagine T.O. and Moss together on the same team and getting along.

Count me in as one who would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see Moss, Owens, and Holt lining up for the Patriots this season

Sounds like he's interested in winning a Super Bowl before he retires. Like I said in the other thread, earlier in the offseason I wanted him (when we weren't doing anything to fill the position). Now I'm comfortable with what we have. If the new receivers stink up the joint in TC then MAYBE I would consider him again. But they would REALLY have to suck.

The end of the article was pretty funny. The author states how he can't see it happening unless Moss tears up his knee. He then says:
"In unrelated news, T.O. has been trying to find a current phone number for Tonya Harding."

As many have said, we have tons of talent at WR. Why, after drafting loads of character guys, risk bringing T.O. into a locker room that has begun showing cracks?

All that said, I do believe that had we signed T.O. last year, he would certainly have gotten most of the blame for the locker room woe's we had last year.

I wanted him too. But yeah as of right now we'd need at least 2 PUP's and 1 cut at WR for there to even be a spot for him. With Welker ahead of schedule that's hard to see. btw Are there any updates on Tate's status?

Although Owens is better than Tate, Price and Edelman, the Pats need to start developing young WR's. In addition, the Pats signed Holt who is a better route runner.

With that said, signing Owens would sure create a lot of competition in training camp. In fact, don't you think Owens would work extra hard so he doesn't get cut? Talk about a hit to the ego which Owens has shown to be very big.

And for the people that think he would create problems in the Pats locker room is laughable. If the Pats had a chump at QB, that might be the case where he mouths off. But not Tom Brady. People thought Moss was going to create waves in the locker room, but seems to act like a great teammate. Remember Owens' first season as an Eagle? When you team wins, he's quiet. All Owens wants to do is win and I think he'd be a great addition to the Pats.

Owens told WJMN that he'd accept less money, LeBron-style, for a crack at playing with the Pats.
T.O. bats his eyelashes at the Pats | ProFootballTalk.com

You'll never see the day TO. I'd rather see Ocho here than TO. At least Ocho's fun! TO's a Drama Queen, seriously who in that locker room would put up with his BS. Please, he'd be crying and whining one day into camp. At least Ocho would be filming a reality show! We could call it Real Razor maybe.

Someone seriously needs to do a video of that Onion article, the one with BB in the white suit etc LOL :D Ocho's the man to do it too lol ;)

Hmm, people do grow up at some point. It takes some a lot longer than others and I'm just starting to think that TO has finally matured a bit. The way it happens to some guys is that they just get this vision that its almost over for them and they really want to finish with a good name. I wouldn't mind at all if we gave him the vet min and see what happens at TC.

I didn't want him before but I didn't hear of any trouble with the Bills(I may have missed it).

all I'm saying is dont be suprised, and dont be suprised if it worked out really well for a seaon.

agreed. everyone said Moss was a cancer but when he came here he humbled himself. Why can't the same be for TO? If he causes any trouble, you cut him mid season. We don't need him, but a receiving corp of Moss, Welker, TO, Edelman, Price, Holt plus Gronkowski and Hernandez would be deadly.

So just when BB's going for the Lockeroom Leadership Theme, you guys want to insert TO. Stop it;)

I like your thinking.

I definitely think he's worth a shot. But the question is: who would be cut to open up a spot for him? In my 53, I'd probably cut either Bussey, Wheatley, or Deaderick (in that order of priority). And where would he place on the depth chart? Probably:

Moss
Welker
Owens
Holt
Edelman
Tate
Price

Wow, when Edelman is your #5, you know you've got good depth :rocker:

But thinking realistically, I don't think it will happen. TO would probably ask for too much money, and he would probably make a big deal about not being able to wear 81 (what number WOULD he wear?!).
