Who DOESN'T make the roster

It seems that Ohrnberger should and will be beaten out. He seemed an aweful pick last year. And this year, I would rather have Connolly (our best backup guard not named Kaczur), Larsen (perhaps our best backup center) or even Bussey (a LT and OG)

PRYOR shouldn't make the team.

We've brought in Warren and Lewis to replace Green and upgrade Pryor. I would be disappointed if they both don't make it and lose one of their roster spots to Pryor.

Usually you're sensible, but this is nuts.

(1) Aiken - sorry excuse for a WR and roster spots are too valuable for a 1 trick jackass. Adios.

(2) Wilhite - Useless. Any WR matched up with him will have a career high day. Buh - Bye

(3) Wheatley - Nothing special and always injured.

Wilhite still is more than likely our 4th corner, and there are definitely plays that call for having 4 corners on the field. It's hard to cut him with no clear upgrade.

1) Lewis - Not a great fit for the 34 plus I'm sill hoping Brace and Prior can emerge into quality players.

2) Patton - Love him but he only makes the team if Holt and the young guys have no game.

3) Slater - I've never been a fan.

4) Wheatley - I'd love to see him start to resemble the player described in his scouting report but I'm losing patience.

5) Koppen - For this to happen Ted Larson would really have to emerge which I'd love to see. I like Koppen but we need a center who can hold his own against the Kris Jenkins' of the world.

6) Alexander - Too much competition to survive.

7) Aiken - Too much competition to survive.

8) Woods - Too much competition to survive.

Only CB who isn't an UDFA I can see being cut is Wheatley. Wilhite probably will be fine as a third or fourth corner, as long as he doesn't have to go against a star receiver.

What was it about Ohrnberger's play that disappointed you?

Aiken was not on the roster as a WR, it was because of his special teams play; he was the S/T captain. If not for the failures of Galloway and Lewis to produce, Aiken would not (and should not) have ever had a pass thrown to him.

As for Wilhite and Wheatley, let me ask you this: who do you suggest should be the fourth corner?

G. Warren, D. Patten, Slater, Crable come to mind

Everyone knows Patten will be cut. I think Slater sticks around because of his special teams blocking. Crable needs to be evaluated during training camp and the preseason before we assume he's useless. The biggest surprise out of those four would be G. Warren (but I think he has priority over Lewis).

Aiken.
Crable.
Wheatley.
Wendell
Fred Taylor.

Brady.... ;)

Mankins will, but does'nt want to

damione lewis
david patten
brandon macgowan

Yeah, another one I was afraid to mention would be either Sanders or McGowan. I think Sanders may get cut (a bit more likely than McGowan, but I'm talking about both of them), but it's not very likely. I could still see it happening, though.

Sanders will get cut? So you expect him to stumble while holding onto cutlery or something, then?

I was just about to post that exact thing...

I think it's more likely that he's traded.

Maybe, but I think they both make the roster. I can't see the Pats going with only three safeties, and if one of them is cut, who would the fourth safety be? Bret Lockett might make the team for special teams play, but do we want him as a fourth safety? All four had a significant amount of defensive snaps last year; I'm not sure if Lockett is ready to replace McGowan or Sanders.

Aiken provides no insurance if one of the top 4 WRs should go down for any length of time.

You said it yourself when Galloway didnt pan out, NE was forced to rely on Aiken.

Bradys hands were so tied last year in regards to receiving options. There wasnt anybody to throw to besides Moss, Welker and Edelman. That shouldnt be. Brady should have a stable of capable receivers like Manning has in Indy. Then, NE can back to the business of winning Super Bowls.

Id rather have some decent depth or at least someone promising and Aiken is neither. If Buddy Farnham or Taylor Price can show something in the WR dept and play special teams, I would rather keep them over Aiken.

Wilhite has already gone from # 2 CB to # 4 CB and the season hasnt even begun. Everyone expects Butler or Mcourty to take his place. Hes hanging on by a thread at this point. I'll be interested to see who gets cut from other clubs as rosters wind down.

It shouldnt be that difficult to find someone better than Wilhite. Ive never seen a CB like him that never looks back at the ball.
