Brock Lesnar v Stephen Neal 1999 NCAA Championships

His final title in 1999 came via a win over future NCAA wrestling champion, WWE Champion, and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

Lots of Love, Stevie Wonder.

Neal also beat Gold Medal Winner Kurt Angle. I believe it was also for an NCAA title, but am not 100% on it.

That was a methodical match, but one had the sense that Neal was in control all the way. I really enjoyed it, it was old wise bull vs strong young bull.

I'm not going to doubt you until I find confirmation one way or another, but I find this highly unlikely.

Angle is 7 or 8 years older than Neal, and was "professionally" wrestling when Neal was still in college. On top of that Angle won his Gold metal in '96 at Heavy weight (tops out at 220 in the Olympics), and Neal won the World championship in '99 at 286. Some of the numbers might be slightly off, but I am close; I just can't see where they ever would have competed against each other.

Every year folks discover their Patriot fandom. It's new to them. . . . and it's the offseason. :)

I'm thinking this was re-posted because Lesnar has a big UFC fight this weekend.

Thanks for posting. Never seen it before and I enjoyed it.

The Jets suck every year but the latest thread already is over 1200 posts.
Some things are just worth remembering :)

Was Angle wrestling with a broken freakin' neck?

Lesnar is my favorite MMA fighter right now. I hope he destroys Carwin. The fact that everybody hates him only makes me like him more. :)

WOw.. I was expecting a lot more than what I watched for 9 minuts.. I've seen more fight out of two three legged dogs...

Hey, that's the same reason I like you, Kontra.

After I beat someone in a debate, I stand up and flick my family off in my living room.

That's a really good video :)

Neal is clearly a gifted athlete, that clearly helped him become the player he is/was.

I saw the fight and really enjoyed it - it was awesome!!

Was great to see Lesnar take a tremendous pounding in the first round (rocky style) only to come back and literally smother the life out of carwin in round 2.

I did not realize how much Lesner went through this past year - good to see him come out on top.

.....and now we all know WHY college wrestling isn't a major spectator sport. ;)

I love college wrestling. In my humble opinion it's a more technical, athletic,
and challenging sport than college basketball, football, soccer, baseball,
softball, you name it. College sports suck for the most part except hockey,
and college wrestling is a great spectator sport. In the areas where it is
popular it is a major spectator sport. New England is not a big college sports
area except when some team has a good season then the disinterested
alumni crawl out from their liquor induced coma and buy tickets to be seen.

If you actually go to some of the matches (not many around here unfortunately)
you would probably appreciate it a lot more. JMHO, YMMV.
