:rofl: ... Dustin 'Laser Show' Pedroia just hit his 3rd HR tonight in Colorado.

Guess he caught 3 balls w/o cheese or hair on them. :D

Boston 13 ... Rockies 11 in the 10th ... :popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Wonder if pedroia can kick the Jubilani?

Thank God for the Pedroiski tonight.... but we still need to close it out. Paps needs to be punched in the mouth.. really hard after his last 2 days of choking.

As much of a disappointment as he has been lately, I still wouldn't get rid of Papelbon if I was the Sox. When he's got his head on straight, he's one of the better closers in the league.

Yeah but closers struggling in baseball scare me. Usually once you see a closer lose his stuff, its gone. We've certainly done worse than Papelbon but the guy is not the same guy, I don't care what anyone says. honestly for the last 2 years its been a journey everytime the guys takes the mound. I can't see this getting better before it gets worse, JMO. I realize Papelbon hasn't been "terrible" but he's not close to as automatic as he once was.

Riviera went through some tough stretches over the last few years as well and has shown the ability to recover. On our own team, look no further than Big Papi. Give him some more time.

pedroia out 3 to 8 weeks with a broken foot:eek:

Can't catch a break. Started the day tied with the Rays. Hopefully, the rest of the team can pick up the slack while he's out.

And now Buchholtz hyperextended his knee base running. :( Good news, though, that he should make his next start. :)

I don't know - I give this team tons of credit and respect for coming back to within 1 game of the Yankees when playing without Jacoby Ellsbury, Mike Cameron, and Josh Beckett for most of the season and with Papelbon not in finest form.

Without Pedroia they wouldn't have had a shot at getting back into the race - it's still a long season but this has been the most signifiant loss yet.

It is hard to believe that Pedroia is out and what is up with Ellsbury? How do you stay out almost 3 months from cracked ribs

You don't.

He broke 3 ribs, came back, and then broke DIFFERENT ribs. Its a completely different injury.

Also, have you ever broken ribs and played a sport? When I was in college I either had a slight break or bruise, and breathing was tough and a lot of motions caused pretty severe pain. I'd think throwing and, especially, swinging would be a challenge.

Are you sure they were broke? I haven't heard anything about them being broken, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, its been reported like 6000 times by 600 different news outlets. If you haven't heard it, you've been ignoring it.

Wow I can't believe I missed that, when is he expected back?
