Re: Patriots come to terms with 'The Zoltan' 4 year deal

Question is,Is David King now a goner I presume?

Re: Patriots come to terms with 'The Zoltan' 4 year deal

I thought he was already released.

I didn't catch that....Punter news kind of gets away from me except this 4 year deal today

Ian Rapaport on Twitter:

I ask Zoltan what he's learning: "There are so many aspects of punting. I’d probably bore you if I went into all of them." I said, thanks!

:p

Re: Patriots come to terms with 'The Zoltan' 4 year deal

Although early reports had Mesko being very inconsistent (was trying to remove that extra step), all recent reports are of him really booming the ball. Can anyone confirm whether he is doing this without the extra step? If so, this kid is very coachable, and will probably be a pretty special player. I think he may redefine the punter postion.

Let's go Mesko! Can't be any worse than Hansen.

Sounds like the Pats really like the kid to give a punter that kind of signing bonus. Let's go Zoltan, kick that ball into space, space emperor!

Maybe you have forgotten or never saw Flash [Buster Crabbe] Gordon face off against Mesko the Merciless, Emperor of Space...

Those were Hollywood[land] all time epics with special effects to rival Star Wars.;)

You mean "Ming the Merciless", and all those model spaceships with sparklers stuck in the back. Sadly, I remember watching those in the early 60's on our black & white TV.

My hope for him is that he is the team's punter for twenty years, and never once gets out on the field except to hold for extra points.

A friend of mine is a Mich alum, and has season tickets...his comments were, he can crush the ball, as long as there is no pressure. If he has to kick under pressure..watch out. fwiw.

So there's absolutely no chance he can improve from how he was in college?

That's interesting, considering he's never had a punt blocked... even with an extra step.

It was more along the lines of he shanks it in "pressure situations" and "when it really counts".

Time will tell.
