PNM just started a thread on Fox Sports' Top 10 Underpaid Players. I clicked on the link to the top 10 Overpaid and found it even more interesting but didn't want to hijack his thread, so I thought I'd just start a new one.

Here's the link.

Most pleasing inclusion? Number eight. Eli Manning!!! "It’s pretty rare to list a Super Bowl MVP – didn’t the Giants’ D-linemen really deserve the award? – in this category, but it’s tough to get over his $97.5 million extension...Yes, he’s good. But does he..."

Another fun one is Jay Cutler

Also, Matt is on it, but I think it's unfair until he has another year to prove himself.

It made sense for former Pats exec Scott Pioli to bring Matt Cassel to Kansas City, but the price was steep, another $15 million this year. Cassel, who played collected big bucks because the Pats had to franchise him to find a trading partner.

They say that he was playing on the franchise numbers, when he signed a 6 year contract before the season!

Interesting :)

a lot of patriots are overpaid.
bye bye suckers. i leave this gay board
**** YOU :rocker:

Millions of cash for 8 months work for almost all players in the league - THEY ARE ALL OVERPAID IMO

I think when all is said and done, Cassel will be worth what KC invested in him. It's hard to be a good QB when your OL is friggin awful.

Tommy Kelly got paid more than Antonio Smith, but had less production. Surprised not to see him on there.

I still can't believe what the Bears gave up for Peppers. He's an extremely good pass rusher but he's a liability against the run. As long as their management is in place and Cutler is the quarterback, that organization isn't going anywhere. Nice to see Eli on there as well. The guy got an extension based on lobbing up a prayer across midfield.

Your mother's a whore.

Nut, your sig is offensive to those of us with prostate issues. :)

That's far too respectable a profession to impute to the entity which spawned that poster.

Yes, in a sense you are right and when we compare them to teachers or firefighters, you are very right.

But, if we think of them as entertainers with a unique set of talents with a limited shelf life (average nfl career = 3 1/2 years), then I see it differently. Plus, they not only have a limited span during which they can produce at a high level, but it can all be over on one play, even on the practice field.

And when teachers and firefighter's can fill up stadiums with people willing to pay hundreds and in some cases thousands of dollars to watch them perform, they will be paid similarly.

It's a long off season and the little guy was getting over hydrated*. He will be going back to get ready for the season soon.

*he a has "going problem" but don't tell anyone. He's a little sensitive about it.

That was pretty much my point. Thanks for restating it.

Without teachers, we would be in the stadium not understanding what we are watching. They are absolutely underpaid.

Nice derail, by the way.
