I understand the character issues and off the field concerns. But this situation feels like a bargain opportunity for a team.

This seems like a buy low option for New England. He's twenty-four, you'll have him for two seasons and he'll likely play with a chip on his shoulder. The Patriots could benefit from his motivation in the same way they'd with Antowain Smith.

Marshawn Lynch has "zero trade value" right now, according to ESPN.com's Tim Graham.

"No matter how much he wants to posture and get his way off the team, the Bills can't get anything in return for him," said Graham. "He has so much baggage that other teams don't want to trust him." Lynch's hands are pretty much tied at this point. His only option is to return to Buffalo and play the role of the good soldier while trying to rehabilitate his image.

The guy's got talent, but no way I want him on the Pats. We're trying to build a team of like-minded committed players who are all about football, and Lynch is the polar opposite of that. However much talent he has, he has just as much potential to negatively impact a very young locker room. If we learned anything last year, it's that the Pats don't have unlimited capacity to bring in malcontents and reform them, and taking on Lynch seems like an invitation to repeat a lot of the troubles that we had last year.

We just spent the whole off-season getting rid of the dressing room cancer. Why chance it once more with Lynch?

As a side, I like the way he runs the ball. Direct, shoulder down. Picks up the blitz pretty well too.

Dillon and Moss both had character concerns too but were never a problem when here. A change of scenery is all you need sometimes.

Yeah I like Lynch's running style. Sounds like he could be had for next to nothing, if he acts up BB will get rid of him immediately. IMO not a major risk but you are right about this team coming off a bad year locker room wise. Probably won't end up here but I wouldn't be against it.

Lynch is not similar. He is not long time veteran, with HOF caliber production, who has already made a ton of $, is tired of losing, is desperate to get into a winning situation, and willing to make sacrifices to get out of where he is. Lynch is none of those things.

Don't blaspheme please. Jim Brown is kind of nasty too, but i don't see marginal RBs being compared to him.

I have liked Lynch as a RB, but colleges pump out decent RBs with crappy attitudes every year, why reach?

I agree. There's always running backs to be had, and usually for fair prices. Why take the risk in this situation?

I don't know, I'd read the legal issues about him on Wikipedia and they sound minimal compared to players guilty of far worst. I'm not condoning his behavior. But, if you're New England, you've to at least kick the tires on this and see what is the least amount in value you've to give up for him. I mean this is the AFC East division. It's typical to see good players traded but remain in the same division. Remember when Bledsoe was traded...?

there was a shooting recently in boston where a kid wearing a helmet was shot and killed by unknown shooters and it was a case of mistaken identity

the kid who was shot was driving a similar scooter as one of his neighbors who was apparently involved in gangs

By history I am talking about character issues. I don't remember comparing Lynch's on field performance to Dillon or Moss or 'blaspheming' anything so I'm not sure what those posts were aimed at. I couldn't recall what his past violations were and was seeing if anybody could list what he did to assist me with my ignorance of the past incidents, I didn't annoint him the next Corey Dillon. I thought that by clearly stating that I'm not defending Lynch people would have figured that.

Thanks for posting the history. Eh, those things may not sound like a big deal but when somebody's involved with the law that many times it's definitely an issue. I think I'd rather look elsewhere
