Just saw this on Pardon the Interruption on ESPN. Tom Brady was seen laughing with Kobe Byrant after the Celtics loss last night.

Wilbon also mentioned that Brady got a standing ovation from the fans at TD Garden, and was modest enough to not raise his hand until Nate Robinson raised it for him.

So what do you guys think of this? Big Deal or No Problem?

NOTE: Mods I realize this regards basketball, but I felt it appropriate to post here since it involves Brady. Feel free to move if necessary.

By the way, I'm a pretty involved Celtic fan. And I have no problem with this. Just two athletes who dominate their sports chatting.

Hmmmm... I always see opponents from the same sport joking around after the game when they've just played against each other. This is a story because ESPN is basically Perez Hilton with a sports twist.

I just wonder if the Boston media will be able to drive out one of the greatest athletes/personalities in the city's history.

I second this. They're probably, along with Derek Jeter, the greatest "winners" in their respective sports. Peers. Neither of them have too many peers from any field.

I agree with the previous posters and I'd also add that if Tom Brady is a Laker's fans I have no problem with that either. He eats, drinks and sleeps New England Patriots football, he can support anybody he wants in any other sport for all I care. And I'm a Celtics fan too.

No problem with this. Would have liked to see Brady launch a full bottle between the refs eyes though. Am seriously considering not watchin the NBA anymore due to the horrendous jobs the refs have been doing lately. they are not calling the game but dictating it, and it is sickening to watch. hopefully a fan gets loaded enough to storm the floor and go all MMA on those clowns.

If it was on the floor, directly after the loss, it looks bad and is disrespectful to the Celtics.

If Brady was chumming it up with Arod in the Yankees dugout after a Sox loss there would be pandemonium in NE.

No flow to the game at all, horrible calls on both sides and inconsistent, they need a major overhaul in the officiating in the NBA.

Glad to see no one is overreacting to this

Unless someone is going to fault Brady for talking to Kobe PERIOD, not knowing what was said, how can one fault Brady for laughing?

Is Brady allowed to talk to a fellow sports figure but not allowed to laugh?

C'mon... I'm a Patriots fan, Celts fan and Red Sox fan

Like Brady I respect Bryant and Derek Jeter as players. That doesn't change or lessen my status as a fan.

I know Brady is close to some Celtics but I doubt there's many athletes he respects like Kobe - and for good reason. Kobe is a stud, not just physically but mentally and I bet Brady admires the hell out of him, as he should.

**** this, man! Brady should have pulled out a gun and unloaded the clip into his chest. This ***** has CLEARLY lost his fire!!1

Agreed, Brady's actions are unacceptable and frankly I am offended by his lack of respect.

...which I will never understand, considering baseball is awful.

Is this the same Kobe who was smart enough to suggest that sometimes you can put a towel over it after you wet the bed? (All metaphorically, of course...)

Tiger is above all of them when it comes to winning.

This topic is cringeworthy. It's a non issue.

I love Brady. I love the Celtics. I hate the Lakers. I HATE Kobe. And I couldn't care less about this.

I love Brady. I am a Knicks fan. Tom Brady will never talk to anyone on the Knicks.

I couldn't give a ****, this thread is actually sickening. First we critique his hair and then now we have to evaluate his treatment of non-football athletes? Maybe he likes the Lakers? He is from CA after all.

... and yet 2 members post it at exactly the same time ... 5:48.

I'm glad I had something better to do at the time.

In other news Tom Brady says he's rooting for Ivory Coast in the World Cup ... do we like them.:p
