I have read Silver's report about the supposedly growing disconnect between the Pats and Brady. I didn't really get anything solid out of this report as it seemed to be full of opinion and speculation. There did not seem to be anything concrete in the article at all. However, I was just listening to the most recent PFW in Progress, and I was struck by something they kind of matter-of-factly stated in the first 10 minutes of the broadcast. They mentioned how they were talking to a Pats staff member and they mentioned the Patriots at least having a great QB. The Pats staff member supposedly responded by questioning the use of the word great, inferring that Brady is not a great player. This seems odd that a Pats employee would openly do this unless there really is a disconnect. Please go to the Pats website, listen to this and let me know if it sounds the same way to you.

Seems odd but it not the job of the PFW guys to coddle to the patriots....it is there job to sell papers and generate web site hits so with in reason they can say anything about anyone within the patriots they want and justify that way. Obviously there is a limit to how much they can do this but I don't see those comments as something someone would fear getting fired over for writting or saying except that it is so far off the truth it is ridiculous.

Basically what I am saying is that the PFW guys can criticize all they want ideally they should be right or at least founded when they do. Saying that Woods sucks or something like that would be fine so saying the same about Tom would be fine excpt they you question the writers opinion.

What some unidentified W2 recipient of unknown capacity in the Patriots org thinks or says about TFB is irrelevant. What BB and Kraft think IS relevant.

Looks like someone else has fallen victim to the Great Media Brainwashing Conspericy. This is one of the last safe zone left in the world in order to save you self come here daily and read at least one thread it works better then tin foil hats

This, Brady is and will always be one of the best NFL stories for decades to come and his play and work eithic are second to none.

3 Rings
Leauge MVP and Super Bowl MVP
Record 50 td's in a season
16-0 season

I could go on but we all get the point...:rocker:

Beware of the unidentified employee or "source". He either doesn't exist or his job in the Pats organization is picking up all the dirty jockstraps and making sure they get washed.

This.

If someone isn't willing to go out and identify themselves, odds are their information isn't strong enough to hold its weight with their identity known.

Yeah, he especially sucked that year he threw 50 TDs.

Brady's great days are over. He is very very very good, but I like reserving great for the truly great.

Manning and Brees are great right now.

Flame away.

Mannings is no where near as good as brady...Man, that manning guy was GREAT when he all alone, cost his team a superbowl with that pic 6.

Wow, really? Where was Brady in the Playoffs?

Great logic.

Where has Manning been in the playoffs for his entire career? Oh, that's right. The land of one and done. "Great logic" indeed.

All I said was that Brady's great days are over.

Indeed. You made a very poorly thought out comment. Brady was coming off of an ACL injury, and was still among the league's elite.

and by the same standards then, so is mannings

Your opinion is fine....except you don't back it up.

If it's because of the knee.....too soon to judge
If it's because of age............this is flat out stupid, without empirical data.
If it's wishful thinking by a dirtbag homer of the NFL's most pathetic franchise, who will never have their own stadium to play in........................

NOW,I understand:rocker:

According to Football Outsiders Brady was the best QB in the league last year because of the schedule he played. And that is without taking into consideration the fact that he was coming back from an injury that sidelined him for nearly a year. Basically, if Brady is no longer "Great" then nobody in the league is.

In the biggest game of Manning's life, he stared down his receiver and threw a game-blowing pick six. In the biggest game of Brady's life (one in which he was also carrying an undefeated team on his back), he peeled himself off the turf time and time again and drove his team down the field for a TD. Brady also has three rings to Manning's one and also holds Manning's old single season TD record. But of course you would say this. You're a Jets fan. Just like I would say that Namath is a gambling degenerate and should not be considered anywhere near "great".
