I think this makes a lot of sense for Brady. I don't get the feeling he is going to demand to be the highest paid, but he does want to be in that top tier. Everyone knows that Peyton Manning is going to get a huge pay raise, which will then bump up the average of what top tier QBs get paid.

My guess is this plays out just like it did in 04, with Manning setting the records and Brady taking a huge deal for himself but a bit smaller. If Manning ends up signing something like 6/120 with 50 million in guarantees, I would expect Brady to get something like 6/105 with 44 million in bonuses.

Nothing to see here...didn't merit a thread either. All he stated was (his opinion) that Manning's deal will get done first and the question will then be if Brady will take less. He did state that no substantive talks have taken place on Mannings deal though. So if that's the case maybe this thread should read "Disconnect between Manning and Colts???"

Doesn't sound like Brady is going to be willing to take a home town discount. If Brady wants to get paid, we need to pay him. His contract will determine what happens with Mankins.

Sounded to me more like what MoLewisrocks says. Not that Brady will refuse to sign first just that Manning's will likely get done first. And not that Brady will demand more than Manning but obviously if one superstar QB gets done it will affect the other one.

I thought it was significant because more people are starting to chime in on the situation. Also, we haven't heard somebody bring up that Tom may be the one that is cutting off talks until Manning signs his deal. But if the mods want to merge this with the Silver thread, have at it.

That and it's Jason LaConfora.

Peyton will probably get more but I think Tom deserves more money.

This. It's all National Enquirer material. Sure, they get some things right every now and then, but right now, it's off season and all the paid news shleppers are looking for stories to justify their pay.

I just listened to what LaCanfora actually said - and again, it's just his "opinion" there's no inside source to back it up.

Needless to say I'm going to lock this thread before there becomes a 'disconnect' among us arguing over something that isn't fact and wasting more time than we already have on this.
