Boston Celtics NBA Finals Thread

That's rich. People from LA, the place that has invented and perfect gang violence, worried about coming to Boston. Good one, Lakers, good one.

Well, LA is so big that no Laker's family, or anybody who can afford tickets to their games, is going anywhere near the areas where there's gang violence. They're living in the equivalent of Weston, etc., relative to Mattapan or whatever areas of Boston are dicy these days. (OT, but what areas are bad now? It's been years since I left the area.)

Probably the same places that were iffy when you were living here. Mattapan, Roxbury...come to mind first. Some places are split and just have some bad parts-- Hyde Park, Roslindale, Dorchester, Eastie etc.etc.etc. Of course, the bad parts of Boston just aren't comparable to the bad parts of LA.

Years since you left? That explains the ignorance in this statement

It is exactly the same for the Celtics players, they are staying miles outside the city in the suburbs and the visiting team's players and families are staying in hotels far away from the violence...

looks like you either misread what I wrote or somehow think the Lakers fear gang violence in Boston

I read it right. What you said about the Lakers holds true for the Celtics and most pro sports players here.

The Lakers aren't living in South Central or Compton and the people from those places aren't going to their games- the pro sports players here aren't living in Roxbury/Dorchester/Roslindale and the folks from there aren't going to the games at the Garden.

Didnt' I hear that USC had to put up a wall outside their stadium to dissuade gunfire?

If you read it right and don't think the Lakers fear gang violence, what exactly what was your prior post addressing? What part of my post was "ignorant" in your eyes? (My post had nothing to do with the possibility of gang violence in Boston.)

What is everyone's predictions? I say Celtics in 6...take first game in LA..lose second..take 3 and 4..lose 5..and win 6

Nice try, but my post was clear.

"Nice try?"

No, your post wasn't clear, which is why I asked the questions. Your refusal to answer makes me think you're one of those folks who can't admit when he made a mistake.

Celts 6 Garnett shuts down Gasol, Rondo owns Fischer.

on the c's in 6 bandwagon...here we go green...show these la d-bags whats what.

Celtics have to stop missing so many easy shots. That may come back to hurt them down the stretch. Playing some dumb basketball again.

Lakers have been all over the C's and are only 1 score in front. Come on Celts.

piss poor first half. I am going to say it...Garnett is done. He is either old or injured, because Gasol is abusing him and cry baby Perk. We need to get rid of Garnett and get someone who can rebound. That is a bit of a crazy notion, but i truely beleive that Kevin is done. Who is available that can really, not kidding, rebound.

Refs suck as well. This is the championship game and they are calling it way to tight, for both sides. Let them play a little bit.

need to stop givin up the easy drives to the bucket. So much for the vaunted boston d. hopefully they wake the hell up in the third (usually come out of the half men possessed) and jump out to a decent lead before Kobe's Quarter.

Gasol has murdered Garnett in the first half. The two problems for mine are the Celtics rebounding has been terrible and we're taking very bad shots.

The Celtics need to get on a roll early in the third otherwise it'll be blown out very soon.

They let them play more physical and Perk will have Gasol and Bynum out til halfway through next season. I think best case scenario for Perk is they come out and jump to a big lead, he picks up a T late, C's hang on to win and essentially forfeit game 2. Then Perk can stop playin with a monkey on his back and get after it on the defensive end. Yes, I did jus say I think it would be good for the C's to lose Perk for game two, the one condition being they pull out this one tonight. Then they have the usuall mean menacing hulk in the paint back for 3 tilts in the garden.

well this one seems to be slipping away now...very lethargic game by the celts
