Will Edelman ever escape WW comparisons?

oh, I thought you meant wonder woman

He will escape the comparisons when he becomes better than WW. So yeah, probably not ;)

they are similar.....not identical...

he may not escape comparisons from those looking for an easy column.....but he will forge his own Patriot history based upon his skills.....and it will be sweet!

He has played wr for one year. Give him time.

That would be like somebody eclipsing Don "Magic Man" Majkowski in the fans' minds... or Drew Bledsoe, for that matter. Me, I still can't remember that guy that started opposite Cris Carter in Minnesota...

And yet, the name Eugene Chung is emblazoned in my memory. Let's hope he's more like the above tongue-in-cheek list, in terms of our future recollections

We will see the latter half of the season when they are both on the game field.

He's a shifty WR, he rocks, and he's white. So no

The question suggests that his being compared to Welker is a bad thing. I like that he looks like a Welker clone on the field (just a bit taller).

when you get compared to a WR who holds the record for most rec in a 3 year span. it's a good thing im looking for him to have a big year

Exactly, better then being compared to Chad Jackson or Bethel Johnson.

Will Brady ever stop being compared to Joe Montana?

If Edelman starts to suck he will become tim dwight. lol.

Comparisons to Welker are an enormous compliment to Edelman.

It is the flip side where so many think Edelman stepping in for Welker is little to no drop off that is an insult to Welker who the last 3 years only produced the best 3 year span of any slot WR in NFL history.

Edelman caught 2 TD passes in his first ever playoff game. Personally, Im expecting even bigger and better things out of him than Welker. Maybe that's unrealistic, but this kid hasnt even begun to scratch the surface of his WR talents, imo.

Anyone know if that play vs Baltimore where he broke 1000 tackles is on youtube? I think I had stopped recording the game at that point.
