Did Stanback get infected by part of the locker room cancer that the team is now trying to radiate and kill?

No, he just wasn't going to beat out Hoyer and Robinson at QB, or all the folks at WR.

Stanback seemed like a good kid but he was never going to make the team. Between the draft and a few IRs/FA the roster will be tons stronger at the bottom this year.

Not much news here but I met Isaiah at circuit city and he was a really nice guy and stayed and talked football for a minute so I kind of feel bad for him and hope he catches on somewhere else.

Stanback made some nice catches last year that extended drives, but he obviously wasn't going to beat out Price, Tate and Edelman.

............ and the sun sets on the Stanback era in Patriot Nation. :(

Yeah the first thing I noticed when I read that was that they announced the signing of LB Derrick Burgess.

If Stanback was a clubhouse problem he would have been cut long before now (cancers far down the depth chart don't last long). In fact, the timing tells me they like the kid and want to give him a chance to catch on somewhere else. Having gone through the draft and the FA period they now have a pretty good picture of their WR corps and the numbers just don't add up for Isaiah to be on the final roster.

...and glad that the Derrick Burgess deal was formally announced. Given weeks between twitter and tweat, there is always some risk that it falls apart.

Or put another way, "Many's the slip twixt the twitter and the tweat."

I was at games behind the bench. The guy was an enthusiastic sideline guy and huddled with the QBs to pick up intelligence even while inactive in street clothes. Great attitude. Wish him the very best.

Damn, I liked Stanback, I hope he lands well.

:yeahthat:

Nothing but the best to the young man.

Hope the Chiefs decide they can use a guy like him.

Would not be surprised if JMcD gives him a look at WR. Bronks are a bit thin there...

No offense but why would signing Burgess make you glad? Did you see him play last year? God awful.

He looked very tight in a Patriot's uniform ... he looked the part anyways.

It's not his fault he's just not a 3-cone kind of guy ... or the shuttle ... or any of it.
