The handheld thing sounds silly. I can do that with my iPhone. The rest sounds kick-ass though. Good on Bob for initiating a move toward excellence in EVERY facet of the Pats experience.

I was going to say the same thing. Plus if you have a verizon 3g phone you can watch NFL Red Zone through the NFL App.

While he's at it, Kraft should install some fans in the red seats - and I don't mean of the electrical kind.

Yeah, and I heard that cheap old bastich is going old school.

The handheld thing sounds silly.

The first time a drunk chucks one at somebody that'll be the end of that idea.

But posters on here go on and on about how cheap Kraft is, and how all he cares about is filling the storefronts at Patriot Place. This makes no sense at all.

Curious to know who you all think is the cheapest NFL owner.

For that matter who is the cheapest professional sports franchise owner period?

Yeah, and Bob, when you're putting in the new Screens, slip in some new, hidden speakers to pipe in a little crowd noise and we are in business!

Oops.

"That would be wrong."

Re: Kraft installing new HD videoboards, plus adding RedZone TVs and possibly handhel

I've read about the hand helds. Push a button and hear a clapping noise. Push another button and the device cheers. Put it on autopilot and leave it on your seat when you head to the lounge area for chardoney and brie...the device will cheer and clap. controlled by big brother in the Enthusiasm Suite. I read that Biff Polian, an entrpreneur from Indiana designed the gadget.

I get so annoyed by fans at the stadium who are actually bigger fantasy football fans than Patriot fans. They'll get mad if Moss catches a TD because Welker is on their fantasy team. Or Brady will throw a pick and they say, "that sucks, but it's alright because I started the opposing defense." These handheld devices and the RedZone channel will just encourage these people who should be home on their laptops rather than at the stadium.

Take a page out of the Colts play book... Bill Polian, guardian of the rules, says that this is ok..

Yea, I used this handheld thing at the Patriots vs. Dolphins game in Miami last year. It's cool.

Multiple channels that gives you a look at just the team/players you want and even one dedicated to just the Cheerleaders :D

I have an iPhone and the NFL Ticket as well, and the handheld is light years beyond the Direct TV ap that allows you to watch the TV broadcast.

I'm not sure about the hand-held thing either, it seems kind of unecessary but maybe there'll be a market for it, who knows. But those HD's are going to kick:rocker:

I think NASCAR has proved there is a market for it - People are willing to Pay a little to watch the Broadcast.

The continued to push to improve the NFL's TV Product will necessitate these types of innovations to keep people in seats and out of their High Def Man Caves.

Re: Kraft installing new HD videoboards, plus adding RedZone TVs and possibly handhel

I would think the handheld device might appeal to those in suites that are watching the TV more than the game on the field, as well as those in the red seats. I would imagine they would be the only getting the devices, and not every person with a ticket. If it means the Pats (or any other team) get to fill more suites and/or charge more for those tickets, I say go for it. The more revenue a team gets from those people, the less dependent they are on revenue from the rest of the fans.

On a side note, I would imagine certain opposing fan forums are going to have a field day with this story about the Pats, video, and handheld devices.

Re: Kraft installing new HD videoboards, plus adding RedZone TVs and possibly handhel

This is some great news. New HD jumbos that will be the second bigget in the league Awsome. I am interested to check out the hand held devices and would love to hear more about the modernization of the stadium.

Kraft cheap? I don't even get where this comes from is because he wants to make money or because he privately funded the stadium, used no PSLs to do so, and now is renovating a 10 year old stadium. Cant say thanks enough to Mr. Kraft

Actually, it does. Ticket prices at the stadium are already ridiculously high, and we're in a down economy (to put it mildly). Sometimes you have to spend money to make money.

The cheapest NFL owner is without a doubt Mike Brown.
