Stuff like this is what they should do to replace preseason games. Just have controlled scrimmages and open them to the public. Of course, it'll never happen because (A). too logical, and (B). not lucrative enough.

Sweet! Hopefully it is open to the public!

Geez. Actually, I'd pay MORE to watch them scrimmage than some meaningless pre-season game, with rules that limit contact so everyone gets a good workout but chances of injury are limited, but real officiating. Just imagine, you start with each team doing some drills to get warmed up. Then you have Brees working a series of controlled situations against the Pats D (first and ten from his 20, first and ten from his two, first and ten from the Pats six, etc) then you have Brady doing the same against the Saints. So, that takes the better part of 90 minutes or two hours. Everybody takes a break, the fans get a brew or two and then it's Special Teams, KO and Punts, Field Goals, onside plays.

The problem is that works if you have TB or Brees or Peyton and maybe four or five other QB's running the show, but might be less interesting for other teams.

I am a TC junkie as I am sure some of you remember from last TC so I totally agree hopefully this is open. I would guess that this might wind up being the in stadium season ticket holder event.

yep, love it, more time for Brees to pick Brady's brain, and Payton to get some pointers from BB, love it. these really do make more sense than pre-season games, before we start trying to kill each other in the regular season.

The more different bodies for all the new guys to work with the better. They'll have plenty of time to beat up on the practice squad, but the chance to get broken in against regulars could pay huge dividends in the rookie development department. Spikes, Cunningham, McCourty, Price, Gronk, etc. will really get better experience out of this whole situation.

This is excellent. Not only can we see how our new receivers match up against their crafty secondary, but it allows us to see how our defense as a whole matches up with last year's #1 offense heading into the 2010 season (also gives Merriweather a chance to redeem himself:D). I like it alot.

The scrimmages haven't stopped players from killing each other, when they wanna fight they will fight :D

Brady and Brees on the sidelines chatting? How long before the proud papas bust out the baby pictures?!?! :D

You couldn't pick a better team to practice with to hone playing/skills. I didn't even know this was fair/legal.
