It's never too early!

WalterFootball.com: 2011 NFL Mock Draft - Matt McGuire

12. Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M
19. Deunta Williams, S, North Carolina
51. Cameron Jordan, DE, California
54. Chris Culliver, S, South Carolina

Two first 2 round safeties in additon to Chung and Meriweather? Von Miller, who would get demolished in a 2-gap 34? (And the Panthers being better than the Patriots?!)

You're not kidding. Two offensive tackles taken in the first round...and not until #23? Has that ever happened before?

Nobody should take Walterfootball.com seriously. The website is a total joke. Want me to prove my point? Just read this:

When this went down, I tweeted, "Cleveland Browns sign TE Ben Watson: 3 years, $12 million. Looks like they overpaid by about $12 million." I'm really disgusted by this signing. For years in New England, Watson was an overweight sloth who didn't put in any effort. Because he was in his contract year last season, he finally got into shape - and yet he still sucked. The Browns are basically throwing $6.3 million in guaranteed money into a fire. And the crazy thing is, Watson isn't even the best tight end on Cleveland's roster. That would be Evan Moore.

Beautifull!! :singing:

WORST...MOCK...EVER!!

I think that's the most abysmal mock I've ever seen.

Depends on what you mean by "seriously". If you characterize the site exclusively based on McGuire's arrogant and sophomoric "analysis", it would seem pretty worthless. But Walter himself is reasonable and fairly sharp about some things and offers a decent info resource. And several of the regular posters know their stuff, especially about their own home teams.

It is what it is.

Robert Quinn going 1st, and 4WR going in the top 15. Maybe they need to rethink that.

Hahaha that's funny. It's hard to really put down a 2011 mock because so much can change in a year, but this guy clearly has no clue about the team. It's just like you said. A first and a second dedicated to one of our most loaded positions and a LB that isn't even close to fitting in our system. Also, I can't imagine the team waiting 51 picks before drafting a DE in this top heavy DE draft.

I actually have no problem with that statement. I might not agree 100%, but it's defensible. And I think Watson certainly got overpaid.

I'm with DH. the Bumbler prob. wasn't an overweight sloth, but he wasn't very good either. And he was def. overpaid by Cleveland; but that's cool, because contract size is (I believe) one of the determining factors in assigning compensatory draft picks.

It is. Jarvis Green also got a decent contract in Denver and we could/should get two compensatory draft picks next year.

Excellent news. But have we signed any UFAs that might negate the Watson/Green signings?

even with the 2011 draft being one year away that still the worst mock i ever seen the only pick i agree with is Robert Quinn, he is by far the best player comeing out next year.

Imagine if Oakland bottoms out and we get a shot a Quinn. :D

Shocking draft!!!

But I think it is too early, this time last year, we would have been amazed to get Spikes at 23!

Somehow I think the QB's will work their way into the first three spots of the first round. I think Mallet is going to have a HUGE year if he stays healthty.

I would love for the Patriots to draft WR Green, but not at #1 overall.

Locker will obviously be in the 2011 draft, but Mallett and Luck are a bit up in the air, right? Of course a new CBA/rookie cap can change things, but from what I've heard most think Mallet will enter the draft and Luck will not. Is that the current consensus?

Luck will only be a redshirt sophomore at the end of the 2010 college football season and QBs rarely declare that early. Who was the last redshirt sophomore QB to leave college early? Michael Vick back in 2001? Therefore I would agree with idea of Luck staying another year or two.
