The Patriots have had 9 consecutive winning seasons. This is not an NFL record as the Cowboys had 20.

This is by far the most consecutive winning seasons for the Patriots as the most prior was 5. But with the tougher division and the tough schedule this year will that streak continue?

I'm thinking 11-5 this year and winning the division. I know some will answer as long as they have TFB they will win, win, win.

But maybe I'm being either optimistic or pessimistic. Let me stick up a poll and see what the members think.

They will win more games than in 2009 if two things happen - Tom Brady plays better in terms of closing out games or game winning drives and the defense plays better.

With that said, this team is 11-5 at best.

I think this team is probably closer to 16-0 than it is 11-5.

Seeing as the two things are not that far fetched and since you said they will win more games if the two not so far fetched things happen than how can you say 11-5 at best. To me if a few things fall right this could be a 14-2 team again or even better. The way I look at it is last year things didn't fall right and they were 10-6 anyway so if things fall right I see no reason to cap them at an 11 win team when they have shown they can be much better when things fall right.

So you expect little or no improvement in either area? (None really because we were 11-5 if we didnt pull the starters in the last game)

I had to go with #1, because at this time of year, what true (homer) fan thinks anything else!?

#1 and I'm not being a homer:singing:, I really honestly believe they've got what it takes to bring this one full tilt.

Although I am not sure the Pats will go 11-5, I do think they will have a winning season. Since that is the closest to my feelings, that is the choice I selected. Probably should have chosen the "Can't we enjoy the summer..." option.

11-5 does not exclude them as SB contenders. The schedule is tougher and the division will be tougher than last year.

11-5 IMO wins them the division this year. Maybe Baltimore could have a better AFC record. I don't think the Colts or the Chargers will this year. And the Patriots will have a leg up on those teams by virtue of the wins against them.

I'll keep my powder dry for an exact prediction (called last season at 11--5, which nailed it except, as someone noted above, for pulling the starters in Week 17).

Right now, I'll just answer the question as posed in the thread title.

"Yes, a 10th consecutive winning season."

How "winning?" Hey, it's the middle of May and too early to say. Also, let's allow the Jets to enjoy their annual spring Super Bowl celebrations.

Can't we just enjoy or summer without worrying about this?
If your worried about this you have some serious issues.

I just gotta say it, I've been waiting a long time for you to say something even remotely sensible but it still hasn't happened.

Your posts are like a migraine, they are a pain to read because they include useless information and lots of complete bull****, innacurate information and very illogical thoughts.

strange, strange rsponse set.

1) 11-5 is fine for a SB contender.

2) The poll is about a winning season and there is nothing but SB, 11-5 and we are doomed. Last I heard 10-6 and even 9-7 would be a 10th consecutive winning season.

tell him how you really think......

I think he is kind of the opposite of me on here as he always seems to way overstate his points so much where they seem illogical as I do to but where we differ is that I tend overrate our team understate needs/problem areas and he seems to underate the team or overstate the needs/problem areas.

I think exageration is tough thing to sell on the internet.

On a week by week basis, I, as always, will believe that the Pats will win that Sunday (I will NEVER say the Pats will lose in the 'predict the score' thread). That said, 11-5 is a pretty good guess.

Get used to it or put me on ignore because they haven't won a super bowl in the last 5 years when they should've won at least two.

So the defense made key stops last season? Those thoughts are inaccurate and very illogical?

When they fix their defense, they will win a super bowl. That's when I'll shut up.

I think the defense will fold in critical situations.

-I don't think their roster is very good on paper.
-Welker is injured and Moss is getting older.
-There are question marks at WR
-Their line can't run block
-Koppen keeps getting worse
-They still have question marks at DE, OLB, ILB, CB and S.
- Their defense can't make critical stops.
-Tom Brady and BB are the only reason they will have a winning season. Even Brady said himself he needs to play a lot better.

I agree with what the guy said before, your posts are always focusing on negative points in this team. You hate every player we get, I would like to see you in the GM spot.

I wouldn't.

There really isn't anything positive to say about this team. I don't even know if I could name a handful of players on their team that I feel has promise in the NFL(excluding 2010's draft class). Their drafts have been bad since 2006 and if nobody from the 09-10 draft class steps up, they will turn into the Atlanta Braves or even better the Colts of the NFL (always win the division but early exit in playoffs).

I have admitted I liked this draft far better than '09 which I thought was pretty bad given the amount of picks they had and what they could've done with them.

If I had taken over GM after the 2004 super bowl (when the team needed to look towards the future), it would've been a f*cking cake walk. This team wouldn't be in the position they are in now.

This may be the silliest thing posted on this board in 2010.

Seriously, you're not even pretending to think before posting at this point, are you?

:ugh:

Judging an entire draft as "pretty bad" after one season, particularly given the obvious success of that draft?

If I had taken over GM after the 2004 super bowl (when the team needed to look towards the future), it would've been a f*cking cake walk. This team wouldn't be in the position they are in now.

Posts like this are why the Chicken Littles are still more annoying than the rabid homers.
