Ian's Daily Blog - Last week it was reported that the Patriots were a “no show” after the Lebanon Middle School in Connecticut beat out middle school students across the state in a contest called a “Fuel Up To Play 60” – and were mistakenly told by a school official would give them a chance to meet the New [...]

was there really any question they would have fixed this?

even if it wasnt publicised?

we all know the pats are a class act!

Lies . We all know that Belichick is like Darth Vader, only worse.

Heh, Jets fans were more pissed off about this than the actual school kids and administrators were.

Anything to divert themselves from the "real issues"....

Suprised this story isn't on BSPN... I guess they only run false ones that just so coincidentally happen to be negative

I thought it was lame that the sites that ran that story didn't get all the facts beforehand and instead painted the team in a negative light. I don't think there was ever a question that they would do something to make it up to the kids - but it didn't stop them from writing all that nonsense prior to pointing out that the organization behind the program were the ones truly at fault in this one.

HAHAHA

BB said I will make this quick because I know you all want to get back to class.

Exactly. The Patriots hasd nothing to do with the original snafu. Nothing.

it was all the fault of the New England Dairy Council for the misleading (I'm sure unintentional) communication.

The Patriots organization was merely an innocent bystander in that.

The fact that Bob Kraft, BB, Koppen, Stacey James, etc. took it upon themselves to bail out the Dairy Council and not throw them under the bus for their own mistake speaks volumes about the Patriots organization for their class and decency.

I have to say, I did fall off my chair laughing when I read this comment from a reader at the PFT link:

"Things were going smashingly until Belichek got irritated and pushed a couple kids down the stairs."

The fact the health teacher responsible for motivating all those kids to eat right and excercise was so bitter publicly when the story originally came out - saying, "I probably won't do that again" (ie: participate in the program) I thought was ridiculous. That's a great thing for getting so many kids to participate, and despite what she thought was the result at the time I can't see why she wouldn't want to continue. Granted the motivation would have to be different next year, but it's her job to try and bring the best out of the kids like that.

Hard to disappoint kids who work hard and eat right, especially these days when child obesity continues to be an issue. So kudos to Mr. Kraft & Belichick for recognizing the effort those kids made and rewarding them like that. A classy move indeed.

I think there's a rule against videotaping these kinds of things. We could lose a draft pick over this.

do you think that was maroney in the mascot suit?

I love watching crap like this....good on ya boys....
