PatsCast Episode 1 (with Jays52)

Hey all,

Just wanted to drop a link for my inaugural Patriots podcast, which is focused on a draft recap. Frankly, we're totally new at this, and it shows in the first few minutes--and in the edits that we made in post-production--but the content gets really good about 7 minutes in, when jays52 joins us and brings the knowledge level up by orders of magnitude. You guys have read his posts, so I think you all have a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about.

Anyways, we're going to be making this a pretty regular thing, and I hope you guys like it and keep tuning in. Kontradiction's coming on for our next episode to do some in-depth analysis of the three Florida guys that we drafted, so I'm sure that'll be a good one. yeah...enjoyed the pod cast but there's ONE big element missing...you guys all speak English and speak it pretty much inflection free...you GOTTA get a local area guy to sit in so the flavor gets intensified...somebody with a thick Boston or Ro Dilan accent..:woot:

I found the description of Darius Butler a 'physical' as interesting. I always thought of him as a more speed/quick 3rd DB that is a demon covering the slot. I know that he is a willing tackler, but I am not sure how he matches up (physically) with the bigger WR's.

I think the monkey-editor was drinking... (kidding).

None taken at all, and same here. The uncut conversation actually had more back-and-forth, but we edited some of it out because we wanted to keep it right around 30 minutes, and there was no way we were axing any of Jay's insight. Dude knows his football.

I totally agree, and that's why during the season we're going to send someone in after the games to find the drunkest person at Sullivan's Tap and put him on the phone.

Yeah, that jackass on the phone never shuts up. In fairness, I was draggin ass when I was supposed to call in and didn't want to sound like a total idiot. Crushing three xtra strength 5-hour energies seemed like a good idea at the time. If the guys are kind enough to bring me back, I'll do a better job next time.

The podcast is going to be sweet, fellas, and I'm going to be listening to it religiously. You two are extremely bright, funny people with a good sense of how to deliver your angle. I know that this is going to be a success, and I am greatful for the opportunity to contribute what little I know.
