He and Matthews were rumored to have used at USC, and both denied it. I saw the change in their physiques - didn't believe them then, and now I definitely don't.

This was too obvious to actually happen. :bricks:

you'd think that after being under so much scrutiny regarding suspicion of PED's when he was drafted last year, that he's actually stop after he successfully slipped through the cracks and got drafted so high. The guy came out of nowhere, I guess thats where he's going. Just ask a NOW clean Merriman.

I was blasted here by some people last year for putting pictures of Cushing up in before and after mode. He went from needing a Costanza-Manzere to looking like the incredible hulk.

And yet this was considered a form of bashing to suggest something was off.

I think a lot of people knew this before last year's draft. It's kind of sad to see it turn out this way, but it's not a total shocker. I'm glad we didn't draft him now.

Yep, he was notorious in high-school football circles for turning from a scrawny nobody to a pumped-up hulk in an impossibly short time.

IOW, if it's true, the only suprising thing is that he got caught.

It's actually quite simple: DROY (and OROY, regular season MVP, etc.) is not awarded by the NFL itself.

OTOH, the rules for the one major award given out by the NFL—Pro Bowl honors—were changed after Shawne Merriman's suspension to specifically prohibit players in this situation from being voted to the Pro Bowl the season of their suspension (i.e., Cushing will not be returning to the Pro Bowl this year, period).
