NFL: The New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets had the best offseasons in 2010 - ESPN

Clayton's not the most beloved scribe among Pats Fans types, but he gives kudos here. Ranks Pats 1, Dolphins 2 and Jets 3. He starts off by saying "Re-signings aren't sexy to fans, but the Patriots faced a difficult challenge before free agency began." Nice to see them get credit for Vince and Bodden, but also good to see the names of top draftees and free agents in one story.

AFC East is going to be fun this year. Reminds me of the old SI cover with the big photo of a snarling John Hannah and the headline "The Orneriest Division in the NFL." (Probably the only time "orneriest" made the cover of SI.)

Clayton ranks Lions 4 and Seahawks 5, which could be hard to argue with. Maybe Ravens would be 6th?

Please change to the appropriate thread title :D

I think the AFC BEast is back.

A no big deal article in the offseason so Clayton can point to it as a sign of how "fair" he is when he says something outrageously bad about the Pats during the season.

I still think Clayton is a moron, but it is good that he noticed that when you have some of the best UFAs and you resign them, you are having a pretty good offseason even if it doesn't have the sizzle of bringing in a high priced free agent from another team.

We always criticize this Manning Crotch Jockey when he speaks ill of the Patriots...no sense giving him credit when he speaks well of the Pats.

Clayton is obviously a moron who has never logged onto PatsFans.com

truth! He's just saying this to set us up for negativity during the year

Seems to me this could be a kiss of death more than accolades for improvement...

I think I remember that cover but wasn't it "Sport" magazine? I still have this one though....

His sentiments are not different than mine, even though that does not mean all that much... think he is wrong as BB may have hit a couple of doubles, and maybe even one triple..

Never could understand how this guy has so much credibility; is it because he is perceived to be NFL smart? a geeky looking dude who acts smart? or maybe even the legacy thing.. ?

Belichick may not have hit home runs in the draft, but he loaded the bases with plenty of singles.

Super. Still can't stand the prick.

pats jets and fish all had good offseasons on paper but i think all 3 will have a hard time winning more then 10 games

Yeah, the AFCE schedules are kinda brutal.

It's because he's very good at his job.

Is he good because he essentially believes in your POV??? What is the litmus test for good and bad NFL procrastinators??
