Headline: School kids dissappointed when Patriots don't show up

My mother was Director of an organization for many years that trained special needs students and mentally challenged individuals with life skills including job training.
The Patriots, even dating back to the Sullivan years, were always generous in donating to fund raisers and having players appear at special events.

If you've seen any of Mrs B's post over the years, you know that she has had many Patriots show up at her school too.

This article is barking up the wrong tree.
The Patriots are an organization that has always been there for the community.

it would have been nice if the article had included a copy of the relevant part of the announcement so we could see what was actually promised

It was included as an update on PFT:
UPDATE: We've obtained the text of the standard e-mail sent by the New England Dairy Council. "Students will move and groove to a variety of activities such as Pilates, kickboxing, dance, aerobics, mixed circuits and more!" the e-mail reads. "All activities are led by celebrity coaches and appeal to kids of all skill levels." The term "celebrity coaches" implies that someone other than an intern will show up. That said, the initial communication states that the celebrity coaches will be "onscreen." The easy fix would be to add "onscreen" to the e-mail. The better fix would be to make it clear that no members of the team will be appearing in person. Bottom line? The Patriots bear no blame on this one.

BostonGlobe.com said:
But officials at Lebanon MS made the assumption that Patriots' players were part of the deal -- and the New England Dairy and Food Council is taking full responsibility for the misunderstanding.

Gary Wheelock, CEO of the non-profit group, sends this statement:

"New England Dairy & Food Council wishes to apologize for our miscommunication that led to student disappointment that a New England Patriots player did not attend the Lebanon CT Middle School assembly program earlier this week.

This was not, in any way, the fault of the Patriots, it was solely New England Dairy & Food Council’s mistake, and we are very sorry.

We want to congratulate the kids at Lebanon Middle School for their exemplary efforts participating in the “Fuel Up To Play 60” program. Building strong bodies and strong minds is a goal we can all embrace.

Finally, we promise that we will find a way to make this right, and we ask the kids for their patience while we try to make amends."

Funny how Steelers fans are STILL talking about how "classless" the Patriots are despite their current QB's current rapist ways. They really do have an unhealthy hatred of the Pats. Any comment section under an article is always like 90% Steeler fans ranting & raving.

This strictly has to do with us owning them in the playoffs since 2001. We have kicked their arses in the post season this entire millenium. That is how hate is developed.....I revel in their hate and jealousy.

As an aside, there should be no more discussions of Brady versus Rapistberger.

Update: Ahem, so when can we expect those apologies from PFT and all those commenters huh? (Here's a hint: When pigs fly)

Patriots Today - Pats make a visit to Connecticut

As we all knew they would the Pats made everything right, even though the original screw up wasn't their fault.

We've got to give the Pats credit. It wasn't their mess, but they cleaned it up in a big way. Well done.

Wow, now I'm just waiting on the commenters. I bet in that one they'll still slam us.

Headline: Patriots Cure Cancer.

Comments: Yeah, I bet the cheatriots cheated on their science finals to learn how to cure cancer.

They should have sent Maroney, but he would have probably gone the wrong way and got lost.

He would have been very indecisive on which way to go.

He would have dropped the map when he got to the door.

even i don’t think you’ll find a better team on paper.”

I love when BB says "I know you all want to get back to class, so I will make this short"....Long live BB as HC of the NEP
