Celtics take this series in 6.

Overly optimistic .... probably ... but why not ... Celtics may be peaking soon.

Hahahah i hope so but i dont think Celtics can stick with Lebron.

We match up more favorably against the Cavs then we do Orlando - I think your prediction may be right.

The key to the Celts - as it always is - is Rondo's confidence and aggression. When he is creating, we are the best team in the league. When he jogs down the court, hands it off to Paul Pierce or KG and then goes and waits in the corner, we are a .500 team. It really is that simple for the Celtics.

If Ray Allen has his game ... we will be in good shape.
If Pierce has LeBron then we'll need Ray to pick up the scoring slack if there is any.

This series reminds me of one years ago when Moses Malone was coming back from a hand/wrist injury.
Larry Bird was asked to comment on that and he said they would whack it a few times to see if Moses could take the pain and still play well. So I hope the Celtics whack that elbow around ... see what LeBron is made of ... in the spirit of Larry Bird of course, all is fair in love and war.:D

I hate the Cavaliers but LeBron is on another planet above everyone right now.

I hope I am wrong, but Cavaliers in 6 - It's Cleveland's year - if the Browns aren't going anywhere at least the fans of that city can celebrate with the NBA.

If Cleveland wins does LeBron shake hands ???

Rondo is a BEAST! Celtics up 11 at the half. In large part to Rondo's aggressiveness in the paint. Glad the Celtics locked him up to an extension!

Yup ...................... :yeahthat:

Lets see if they can avoid the 3rd quarter collapse that has been killing them all year.

If LeBron's elbow is as bad as it looked in the last game against the Bulls, I think the Celtics can do it in 7. If it's better now, I think the Cavs take it in 6.

shouldve been up for more and they are in foul trouble....

Did we really expect the Celtics not to blow a nice sized lead as they have done too often all year?...Not surprised at all

This series comes down to a MUST WIN in Cleveland game 2, they lose the next one and its over in 5 or 6 games

+1

Not to mention yet another poor performance from Rasheed Wallace.
I wonder what the stats are for the numbers of 3's he's missed since around a 1/3 of the way into the regular season...

When Rondo is the only one playing at a high level you are in trouble

Wallace is done,we need new blood at the position,Garnett is looking a bit weary as well.

Time to rebuild within while trying to stay competive with what you have as a core of solid contributors and let the guys that are looking old and slow move on ....sounds just like the Patriots situation.

Wallace 17 points tonight and the Celtics are up 104-86 ... go figure.

Rebounds in favor of Celtics ... 43 - 32.

Celts finally put 4 quarters together

Win the next game and we are back in business...I would say we are far from out of the woods yet, although we now have the edge on home court.

I would say 3 1/2 quarters.....The first half of the 4th quarter the cavs cutting a 25 point lead to 10 I said here we go again......I was extremely pleased to see that the Celts didn't fold the tent and actually went on a 10-3run to push the lead back up....I thought it made a good statement at the end of the game and didn't give the cavs confidence going into game 3.....Plus LBJ is hurting....A couple more swipes on his arm and he will be done for....

On a side not, I agree with Reggie Miller's analysis on LeBron's elbow. It definitely is not 100%. That's extremely good news for the Celtics, going back to Boston having taken HCA.

I'm not buying it - Lebron is 100%. When we play good D against him, he struggles - when we don't, he plays well, it's not complicated. He only shows signs of the elbow hurting when it's convenient to him (and has no impact on the game) therefore - much like with everything Lebron does - I know its just for show.

One thing I'm surprised that hasn't been commented on yet - the Superstar factor. The Cavs are getting the Superstar calls. They've taken 30 more free throws and been called for 25 less fouls through 2 games - that's insane, particularly given we have completely dominated 5/8 quarters of the series.

The Cavs have just 4 more points in the paint this entire series - normally, points in the paint is pretty indicative of how aggressive a team is, and how often they are taking it to the whole - which usually lends itself free throws. I cannot understand how two teams can have the same amount of points in the paint, but one team can get called for exponentially more fouls. It is impossible.

I'm sure that will get no play in the press, they have bigger things to worry about:

2010 NBA Playoffs: Danny Ainge of Boston Celtics seen tossing towel to distract Cleveland Cavaliers free-throw shooters - ESPN

Honestly, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but the truth is, the NBA, the media, and the networks really want to see Lebron James get to the Finals. The referees are human, and they treat Lebron as "the King". If we win this series, it's going to be 5 on 8 every game - even at home.

Yeah you could be right. I saw LeBron drive to the hoop well after he supposedly fell on his elbow and go up for an aggressive right handed dunk. It's entirely possible that he's playing it up. The only reason I'm even remotely willing to give him the benefit of the doubt is because he suddenly didn't look that good against Chicago. Boston has a better defense than the Bulls though so it's possible he's playing it up.
