It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Could be but it could also have been that they wanted a TE in the second round and one going there reduced the chance of Gresham or Gronk making it to their next pick. I think it's the latter as Belichick didn't like the Bengals making the pick but it didn't look like it changed their plans.am I just reading too much into this or does it look like they originally planned on drafting gresham at 22 from that footage?
I doubt it, all the CB were going fast, if they wanted a CB and TE then the CB and Gronkowski was far more likely to work than Gresham and a CB later.I still think as I said in my other thread the Pats would have taken Gresham at 22 and stayed put there and McCourty would have been picked up by another before #44 but Cincy needed a TE and I think NE knew that there was a good chance Cincy was taking him but were probably hoping they took Bryant,I don't think NE thought it was necessary to move up and lose a later round pick on a TE so they took thier chances of losing Gresham to #21 and was set on getting a TE later..and they did, twice.

We'll never know. Getting the CB Belichick clearly wanted then working on the #2 TE seems like a reasonable hope/plan going in. There's no way to know what was the #1 plan but I bet McCourty and Gronkowski was very close to it.There was always a chance that if the Pats did take Gresham at #22 and a few picks later saw Devin still on the board and wanted McCourty, they could have given a lower 2nd or 3rd away to move back in the lower 20s and get him anyway but NE has not traded back up in the first for quite some time so there probably was a chance that would have happened but we will never know nor at this time really care.
I'd be shocked if the Pats had a first round grade on a slow TE that can't block.I still think as I said in my other thread the Pats would have taken Gresham at 22 and stayed put there and McCourty would have been picked up by another before #44 but Cincy needed a TE and I think NE knew that there was a good chance Cincy was taking him but were probably hoping they took Bryant,I don't think NE thought it was necessary to move up and lose a later round pick on a TE so they took thier chances of losing Gresham to #21 and was set on getting a TE later..and they did, twice.
right before they draft mccourty at 27 belichick says something like 'they already squeezed a third out of us' --- what's he mean by that?
isn't it just the other way around?

It IS the other way around! The onscreen transcription is wrong. I just listened to it 5 times, BB actually says "we squeezed a third out of this, let's just get our guy and go."
ohhhh -- cool, thx.
hahaha.....I wonder if footage from other teams is that exciting, or a bunch of guys eating sandwiches waiting to submit their pick.
