Spikes: 55 (does this mean I HAVE to be a fan?)

I'm gonna wait until HEY BRO! WHAT UP? checks in and gives his thumbs up or down on tightness.

55 is a tight number

6 for Zoltan does not seem very tight.

32 for McCourty seems tight

87 is definitely tight.

3/4 on tightness???

Re: Spikes-55 (does this mean I HAVE to be a fan?)

You best be trollin'.

I like Gronkowski's number, I'm okay with Spikes's number, and I don't really like 32 for McCourty. However, what numbers were really open in the 20s? Not many. I think 32 was the best available.

26 is the only open 20s number, the rest are used by Chung, Taylor, and the other CBs.

Thanks for the shout out bro and I do like Spikes and Gronk, but 32 for a CB is a little strange. 31 would've been a better choice if it was available. Who cares what punters wear.

Something tells me Cunningham will wear something in the 90's. 96?

Big Shoes to fill on that number.

Anyone know about Price/Hernandez's numbers? It's strange that we got the punter before them.

Mesko was drafted in the 5th. After Hernandez (4th) and Price (3rd)....

RD Player Pos
1 27 McCourty, D. CB
2 42 Gronkowski, R TE
2 53 Cunningham, J. OLB
2 62 Spikes, B. ILB
3 90 Price, T. WR
4 113 Hernandez, A. TE
5 150 Mesko, Z. P
6 205 Larsen, T. C
7 208 Welch, T. OT
7 247 Deaderick, B. DE
7 248 Weston, K. NT
7 250 Robinson, Z. QB

The only time I like 30s is for a safety or a power back. Not for a corner. Terrible!

32 for McCourty????

That just ain't TIGHT!!!!!

I'm thinking he meant it's strange that the punter's number has been released before Price and Hernandez, among others.

I don't think it's odd that he got his first, he went with a traditional low number.

They have a limited amount of numbers in the 80s and two new TEs and three new WRs plus their leftover PS guys still hanging on they don't have all that many open numbers left...

Gronk may end up in the 40s, Price in the teens, and Hernandez in the 80s.

Took you long enough! I'm thinkin once Wheatley gets cut McCourty could take it. I'll pass on 96...how bout something in the 40s or 50s? Does anyone have his 49?

He won't change his number because Wheatley gets cut...if he changes his number to 26, the only open 20s number, it will come before training camp.

He can't wear a 40s number per league rules, so he has to go with a 50s or 90s.

The only open number in the 50s is 56...easy to figure that is a no-go for any LB ;)

The only open 90s number is 96...so it's either 56 or 96 and 96 doesn't come with the expectations of the past like 96 does :D

This is correct.

Zoltan should have been double ZerOOes

00 is tight.
I think 26 would have been a better number for McCourty than 32. 21 or 23 is more tight though.

Good call on Cunningham!

OLB Jermaine Cunningham -- 96

The rest

Patriots rookie minicamp roster - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

So, hopefully 96 will be better this time around for Cunningham.

Hopefully 17 will be better this time around for the newest young deep threat in Price.

Not feeling 46 for Aaron Hernandez at all!

Pat Paschall gets Pat(rick) Pass' old number..funny

I hate the restrictions, a linebacker should be able to get something in the 40s

A number in the 40s is pretty common for H-Backs/flex Tigh Ends. Just look at Dallas Clark and Chris Cooley, for example. I think it suits him well and gives us a little insight on what are Bill's plans for him.

Re: Spikes-55 (does this mean I HAVE to be a fan?)

Good, I was hoping he didn't take #51 so my Mayo Jersey wasn't out of date already :p now to find out what Hernandez gets because I think it will be highly unlikely he will get his college number (#81).

what makes you think a player who hasn't even made the team would come in and take Jerod Mayos number??

Oh wait... you heard football "know nothing" Callahan say this on EEI. (just kidding man!)

I'd be okay with the low 40s, just not feeling 46
