I will never understand why people think Kiper isn't good at his job. He's not an analyst in the traditional "breaking down the game" sense, and he's never pretended to be. I can see why some may not like him, but that dude knows everything about college players.
Kiper is terrible.
"Guard Logan Mankins was a reach in the first round"
"Cedric Benson has all the makings of a star running back"
Kiper rated LaDainian Tomlinson third-best running back in 2001 draft, behind Deuce McAllister and Michael Bennett.
"Give the Lions credit for going away from their biggest needs to take receiver Mike Williams"
"I'll see you at his Hall of Fame induction"(commenting on WR Mike Williams)
"That’s why [they] keep picking number two every year(commenting on the Colts picking Marshall Faulk)"
"Andre Ware is going to be a great NFL quarterback"
"They could go 0-16"(commenting on the 2001 Patriots)
"J.J. Stokes is a sure thing"
Ryan Leaf's "attitude" (which had rubbed teammates and coaches the wrong way in college) would be an asset in the NFL and give him a mental advantage over Peyton Manning
The Green Bay Packers selected Matt Hasselbeck in the 6th round (187 overall). Hasselbeck had not even been invited to the scouting combine, and Kiper referred to the selection as "a waste of a pick"
"Akili Smith will be a great NFL player and would finally provide the Cincinnati Bengals with the passer they'd lacked since Boomer Esiason"
"Trent Dilfer is a franchise Quarterback, the Colts should have taken him but they just showed us yet again why they are the laughing stock of the league year in and year out."
