The unbridled enthusiasm coming from Denver in the wake of the Thomas-Tebow round-one haul has hit a relatively major snag.

As Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported earlier today, tackle Ryan Clady suffered a potentially serious knee injury while doing something unrelated to football. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the injury is believed to be a torn patellar tendon. The source says the injury occurred while Clady was playing basketball.

If that's the case, Clady likely will miss all of the 2010 season. A first-round pick in 2008, Clady has started all 32 regular-season games of his career, and he was named to the Pro Bowl and the Associated Press All-Pro team after the 2009 season.

Also, if anyone is interested in signing Flozell Adams, it may be a good idea to get a deal done before the Broncos make a play for him.
Sucks for Josh and the Denver QBs.

We can ship them Nick kaczur for a 2011 first.

Damn, that really sucks for Clady. I feel bad for the guy. He was high on my board back in the day.

The idea of shipping them Kaczur isn't a bad one, but I wouldn't settle for less than a 3rd, which might be too rich for them - McD wanting him given Clady's injury makes some sense. The problem is Kaczur remains a great insurance policy and great depth for us - albeit an expensive backup (which seems to be the direction things were heading in as Vollmer began to get more PT at the end of the year).

more bad news for our Oakland pick

Ah, shoot.

Then again, their passrush sucks but if Seymour wants to play that day, he'll have an easier time without Clady being in the way.

Oakland only play the Broncos twice, and whoever plays in place of Clady might be very capable!

Well they selected OT Beadles ... some thought to play guard.

Looks like Faneca might end up in Denver ... next to Beadles?

Matt Cassell could be going the Rick Mirer route here ... physically destroyed.

Cassel may be destroyed but it won't have anything to do with clady...

And Faneca is a guard who just signed with Az I believe for $2.5M. Gonna be tough on Orten and Quinn unless Tebow can play tackle...

Flozell Adams packs his bags for Denver as we speak

Bad for Clady, bad for Josh McDaniels (whom I still wish well), good for Oakland, good for San Diego.

Bad news all around. :(

:BTW: Not to alarm anyone, but several players on the Pats and a Police squad are playing a charity basketball game on thursday night somewhere in Mass....I am not sure where it is but I heard it was to happen this week.

And as a NFI Clady will be missing his game checks on the eve of a lockout and have a season toll on his contract for doing something kinda foolish...

I know, and they played one a month or so ago. I always think that's not a very smart way to involve them in the community charity...

Man, that sucks for the Broncos- bad news all around. Seriously, though, what's a 325 pound tackle doing playing basketball?

PostBroncos twittered: Rehab time is app 3 months, should be playing in 4 months. Team hoping he'll be ready for season opener in Sept.

PostBroncos twittered: More on Clady from Mike Klis: Clady had surgery Tuesday, injury happened over the weekend.

Jason LaConforna (sp?) is saying 3-4 months rehab as well. Who knows how this may impact his ability to train/condition. I see him as being a 6-7, 320+ puppy come late summer.

I hope for him that these encouraging rehab time tables are for real.
